The only reason some are freaking out is because of the Guiliani connection. Their lawyer. But somehow this is on Trump? They were caught greasing the wheels for a marijuana business. These two guys were helping Giuliani in his attempt to dig up dirt on Biden in the Ukraine.
There seems to be a rather complicated web of criminality they were involved in. Among other things, they were funneling foreign money into US political campaigns. They were also pressuring the Trump administration to fire the US ambassador to the Ukraine because they thought she was getting in the way of some of their activities in the Ukraine. Ukrainian money made its way to Congressman Pete Sessions who then pressured Trump to fire the ambassador.
