Hi, Jaguars fans! Our Jacksonville Jaguars move on from their disappointing loss last week at the Carolina Panthers, but yet will have an even more tall order and daunting task as they host the 4-1 and NFC South leading New Orleans Saints, in both teams seventh all-time regular season meeting. Saints also are traveled down Interstate 10 to play their regular season road game at Jacksonville in eight years.
Both Jacksonville and New Orleans will see equally talented backup quarterbacks replacing their veterans. Rookie Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew II makes his fourth-straight start for Jacksonville, after replacing free-agent QB Nick Foles suffered a broken left clavicle in his left shoulder, and required season-ending surgery, and placed on injured reserve. Five-year veteran QB Teddy Bridgewater will also start for the Saints, while veteran Drew Brees is recovering from his torn ligament to his right thumb in his throwing hand, requiring surgery during their first half of the Saints Week 2 road game at the L.A. Rams.
Jacksonville seeks to win their third regular season game ever this Sunday afternoon over New Orleans, and two out of three games played at TIAA Bank Field. Jaguars also will try to both end their three-game losing streak, and also win their first regular season game over the Saints in 16 years.
Although the Saints leads the all-time regular season series over the Jaguars at 4-2, both of the Saints losses were played at Jacksonville.
Jaguars defeated the Saints in their first ever regular season win at then-named Alltel Stadium back on November 21, 2999. Mark Brunell lead the Jaguars offense, completing 19 of his 30 passes for 151 yards, and 2 TD's for the 41-23 win.
Jacksonville's second, and recent regular season win over New Orleans in the rivalry was their 20-19 win also played at Alltel Stadium four years later back on December 21, 2003. Byron Leftwich threw his 14 yard touchdown pass play to LaBrandon Toefield, Fred Taylor scoredhis 1-yard TD run, and Seth Marler kicked his 2 PAT's. and field goals from 43 and 35 yards.
Greg Gumbel and Trent Green are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Melanie Collins, for The NFL On FOX's early regional doubleheader game, seen mostly in the Southern USA and Gulf Coast, Eastern Washington State, Northern Idaho, and locally on WJAX CBS Channel 47, all stations seen live on HD.
A mix of sunny and partly cloudy skies at 83 degrees, feels like 85 degrees, is the local gamecast inside TIAA Bank Field, for the 1:05 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff. along with 0% precipitation, 52% humidity, and south/southeast winds at 6 miles per hour.
Head Linesman Jerome Boger leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live game action on the field between the Jaguars and Saints.
NO injuries, let's hope our Jaguars can rebound and even their team record to 3-3, Gardner Minshew also his record as the Jaguars starting QB at 2-2, and the Jaguars stay in the race for the lead in the AFC South division.
LET'S GO JAGUARS!!!!!! DUUUUUU.......VALLLLLLL!!!!!!
