Given the Ramsey situation playing out into a trade and Antonio Brown acting like a nutcase to get himself off a team - do you believe that the players wield more power than it may actually seem?
Ramsey basically didn't have "leverage" in terms of the Jaguars possessing the ability to exercise the 5th year option and a couple of years of franchise tagging - but he still leveraged himself off of this team through his disappointing behavior/actions.
I understand that this was probably the best case scenario to occur for the Jaguars, but what's to stop another new-gen ego stomping his feet and throwing a tantrum to get on a team he really wanted? I say this as someone who is still in their late 20s btw...
The NFL-to-NBA transition may be occurring right before our very eyes, especially with the new CBA looming.

If this happens the NFL is going to lose a lot of fans and money.
Build a winning team and culture and they will want to stay or come. Jaguars not a winning team and culture. Jalen got tired of it.

How do you propose building a winning team when players want to leave?
Brandon Marshall showed out in Denver and it got him moved. It’s stupid

Jalen was meant to.be part of that winning team and culture. He didn't do his part in changing it..... If the players aren't willing to make the change, the change won't happen. Jalen wants it handed to him, not to earn it.

Definitely not absolving Ramsey, but he gave it into his 4th season, to be fair. If you can't rebuild in 3 years you're doing it wrong.
I think the only real thing the league could do (other than something radical like getting rid of the draft, which I would love) is give a lot more power to team doctors or maybe create a league wide doctor for second opinions. When the team and official league doctor both clear the player and they still sit out then the contract/accrued time can go in limbo. As long as a disgruntled player can say anything on their body is hurting and sit indefinitely a la Ramsey or even worse Kawhi then the player has the leverage.

"if you can't rebuild in 4 years, then you're doing it wrong."..... Then we should admit Ramsay was the wro g choice. He was part of that rebuild. He failed.

Jalen is a damn quitter and this has nothing to do with "culture".. He played in a damn AFCC game just a couple of years ago (A helleva lot more than AJ and other players ever got here) and his team was tied for the lead in this division just a couple of weeks ago while he was helping cost your team games, because he quit.
The guy has been dropping hints of leaving since day 1.. he's a quitter so F him, y'all will be better off for this in the long run.. don't need guys like that infecting your lockeroom.

No it won't.
The NBA is doing just fine.

Ratings are at record lows and now there's a international fiasco, because they've been sleeping with a devil.
Also, what small market team ever consistently competes in today's NBA?.. guys consistently bounce to larger markets as soon as they can. The NBA is just a hair above the WWE now.

Ratings isn’t the end all be all for league success.
The NBA brought in 8 billion last year. Each NBA team is worth at least 1 billion with the average being 1.9 which is 3 times higher than it was 5 years ago.
Small market competition also doesn’t dictate how successful a league actually is.

Honestly it just makes the NFL even more a game of replacement for the most part. Was Jalen really worth 100 million over 6 years? How long into that contract before he demands another? Jalen was going to cont being a problem as long as he was here. This scenario is probably for the best long term.
