Because OU isn't a top 5 College football program?

I'd go Riley but i have little faith that Khan will man up and fire this staff. I can honestly see them getting another pass for failing.

Whoever it is, I would say I hope it is an offensive guy. To me you can't go wrong with an offensive guy, unless he's just not that good. But if you go with a defensive guy, the philosophy will more than likely strong running game, strong defense to win games. I'm not saying it's a bad way, but I think we need to think outside the box and bring some creativity and big play potential to the offense and that's why I would want an offensive guy. Get with the trends and move on from dinosaur type philosophies on offense.

This is just one example but it's certainly a top 5 program at the moment.

I'm not ready to cut ties with Marrone just yet.

I'm not opposed to a defensive minded coach, but when the league is starting to gear more towards the offensive side of teh ball, I'd hope that if Jacksonville does bring in a defense coach, he's flexible enough to allow whatever offensive coordinator he brings in (assuming our current Offensive Coordinator doesn't stay) can scheme and create innovative ways for the offense to catch up to the current standards in the league.

Please, for the love of god, no more of the up the middle, smashmouth offensive mindsets. The team has to move on from that [BLEEP] for good. I'm hoping with Filip and Minshew appearing to work well together so far, that we're starting to see signs of leaving that mentality behind for good

Here's another one where OU is #1.

Let's just say OU is a top 10 program. Why would he come here? He's getting paid fantastic, has the potential to have 3 straight Heismans meaning his recruiting will be incredible and his team is consistently in the top 10. He's going to give that up to come to Jacksonville which is not a top tier NFL franchise?

You don't think OU (or another college football program) would try and match that? 2 million is chump change for these schools.

Riley is a competitor that wants to succeed at the highest level. This job will be very attractive with multiple high draft picks, a good solid core on offense, and potentially a franchise QB.

As I said, I'm not saying it's a bad way.  But you have to have offense to win in this league now.  The league almost feels like you need to have a very strong offense and you need a defense that can get to the QB and off the field in critical moments.  You really don't have stifling defenses anymore.  And the Patriots are the example of that.  They cover well on defense, and they create turnovers, I wouldn't say they've been excellent in every department.  They win the key downs, they play well in the red area.  But they will allow teams to drive.

I think Jacksonville just got a whole lot more appealing to coaches since we have 4 first round picks in the next 2 years. As far as a HC, my first choice has been Kansas City OC Eric Bieniemy, but Dallas OC Kellen Moore is very appealing as well. I want nothing to do with Josh McDaniels and I am more skeptical than others, when it comes to Lincoln Riley. As for the others, I don't think Leftwich or Richard are ready to be head coaches. I also kind of like Seattle OC Brian Schottenheimer and San Francisco OC Robert Saleh.
