The offense is going to need a little more work than expected. These extra picks will be essential to building a high-power offense. Let's start with the obvious:
Whether Minshew proves to be the one or Foles at the helm, there are a lack of weapons and protection for either one of them. This certainly needs to be addressed.
Offensive line has had its up and down moments. The biggest disappointment here is not Norwell. It's Cam Robinson. There are too many mental errors and at the one position that is to protect the blindside of the quarterback. He needs to be replaced. Back to Norwell, he has not lived up to his contract, but he is not the weakest link here by any means. He has to clean up too or else they could cut ties with him after the season. Linder is playing well. Cann is inconsistent and Richardson is still a question mark. Taylor has been doing ok considering the competition he has been up against. He needs to clean up the penalties though. Still too early to tell.
I'm not sold on this team being content with what they currently have at WR. Chark is coming on and has done far better than last season. Westbrook has been inconsistent. Conley sees small action here and there. Lee had one good healthy season and injured everywhere else. Cole is nearly forgotten and Board is a non-factor. Getting another big-play WR who can beat coverage will be beneficial to the run game balance and the quarterback. TE is still a question mark here. That will have to be seen after the season progresses.
Fournette is doing well. I can sense moments where he may not trust his linemen in front of him and he hesitates. But, with the pass game improving and the line blocking more effectively, he will be what we have expected of him with how high he was drafted.
With all that said and done, we are looking at 2 WRs (one being a return specialist that this team has lacked for a long time, 2 or 3 OL, and possibly a TE.
This could all change depend on how the team performs along the way. But, this is where I personally see of this offense at the moment. Feel free to share your thoughts.
