Saw camera-hog Fireman Ed in the stands last night. I thought he quit years ago, must be making a comeback. Didn't he beat up another fan or something a few years ago?

As long as our so-so OL can contain their disappointing DL, things should be fine. Also, blitz a lot, Darnold is a turnover machine who had a 3.6 QB rating last night.

Jags 4-4 going to London for a big one.

How the hell did they beat the Cowgirls?

This team needs to really play well at home and there should be no excuse for losing.

Biggest concern is Bell. Contain him and pressure Darnold. We have the line talent to do it

Hoping for 27-10 Jags.

Did we not learn from this last week.  It will be close unless our D can force mistakes and turnovers again.

I think I've learned from 25 years of Jaguar football, the games almost never go like you think they will.
The Jets aren't very good but Belicheck vs a rookie/2nd year QB is basically undefeated.

The Jets beat the Cowboys so let's pump the brakes here a little bit. The Jags should win but they also should have steamrolled the 2nd worst team in the NFL.
The Patriots just have a mental hold other that entire division. You can see teams panic and make basic mistakes when they fall behind by 7.

Jets looked bad yesterday, on Sunday is it a Jets team still licking their wounds or come out fighting? We should win this, @home as well. Get back to .500

Not saying ours will do the same but they are stoppable it seems

The Pats also have the best QB to have ever played under center too.

And he'll take a grounding penalty before taking a sack too lol

Jets D isn't terrible (you wouldn't know it from the box score though)
But Brady had just OK numbers last night and they did pressure him quite a bit (our OL has given up quite a bit of pressure too, and we got a 6th round rook back there)

We gotta rush LF early and often and the D needs to force Darnold to do what he does (play bad)

Speaking of Darnold... he was the one QB I really really didn't like in that draft. Wasn't great at USC, lots of turnovers... more of the same at the next level Vs opponents better than anything the PAC12 could ever muster lol
Also... Adam Gase is bad at coaching.

The Pats are so lucky to have such a weak division.  Buffalo is okay, but the Jets and the Dolphins?  That's 4 guaranteed wins a year.  I wish we could have such a scheduling luxury.

I didn't really watch much of the Boys game... but Cowboys played like poo in that game.
Credit to the Jets for sure... but I think the Boys are a .500 team at seasons end, 9-7 at best. So the jests didn't beat a really good team.

And we kinda did steam roll the bungles, it just took us 3 quarters for the D to get after em real good.
That last TD for the bungles was the epitome of garbage time. It wasn't that close at the end.
Had our offense converted those early RZ drives it would have been a slaughter.

But either way, I expect this game to be a close one too.
24-17 ish
If you google "Leonard Williams," there are all sorts of rumors that there are a lot of teams trying to trade for him. This is the last year of his contract. The trade deadline is Oct 29.

I hope they trade him before Sunday. It would make things just a little easier for us.
Sam Darnold claimed he was seeing "ghosts" last night against the Patriots.

Let's follow that up and make him see goblins this Sunday.

So should the fans, cheerleaders, and Jaxson de Ville wear ghost and goblin outfits?

I like it! Look what we came up with! Put us in the marketing department.
Coach Adam Gase said Darnold had a toenail removed following Monday's loss to the Patriots, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
According to Gase, Darnold "should be fine" for the Jets' Week 8 game against the Jaguars, though it wouldn't be surprising if the quarterback's practice time was more limited than usual leading up to the contest. Rather than toe issue, Darnold's main focus for his Week 8 prep will likely be in improving his mechanics and footwork in the pocket after a wretched performance versus New England. Darnold looked entirely uncomfortable in the pocket in Monday's loss, completing only 11 of 32 attempts for 86 yards while tossing four interceptions.

If we can finish drives early and get the Jets behind, hopefully our defense will be able to tee off. If we struggle to score and the Jets get some momentum, then we could be in for another tight one.

From Wikipedia (Fireman Ed)
"On August 16, 2010, during a Monday Night Football Giants vs. Jets pre-season game, Fireman Ed's inaugural Jets chant in the New Meadowlands Stadium was interrupted by a Giants fan who raised his Giants hat while Fireman Ed's fellow Jets fans stood by. Fireman Ed repeatedly shoved the fan before the fan was escorted away from Ed's chanting post. The Giants fan was later removed from the game. Fireman Ed was charged with simple assault for the incident, but the charges were later dropped."
Calius should do his face up in skeleton whiteface.
scare hell outta Sam.

I have a great marketing idea. Someone should go to Costco and buy a large number of white paper lunch bags and hand them out to everyone in attendance. Then everyone can wear them with eyes cut out to resemble "ghosts" for this upcoming game.
The Jets are not that bad. They played bad last night. Part of it due to coaching on offense IMO. Gase has learned absolutely nothing being in that division. You don't put young QB's in an empty shotgun vs Bill Belicheck, you just don't do it. He's going to dial up cover 0 every single time until that young guy shows him he can beat it. Not only is empty a bad idea, but lining up in a lot of spread is probably not a good idea. At times the Jets line up in the gun and blocked the TE and the HB, the Pats still had free runners. You have to protect your young QB vs Bill he has a strong record against young QBs. I'll be interested to see how he prepares for Lamar. That game is the following week as the Ravens are on a bye this coming week.

What I will say is that Greg Williams also likes to pressure young QBs. I'd expect the Jets to blitz heavy and often until Minshew beats it consistently. Should be a good physical contest.

YAAAAAS!

Do it!

Not sure to what extent ghost outfits would be allowed but with it being close to Halloween it would be a great way to troll the visiting QB.

I brought up how they should do it. Just hand out white paper lunch bags to everyone in attendance with holes cut out for eyes. Everyone puts them on. Bam. Instant trolling.
