It's a reach to say Minshew is a franchise changing quarterback.

I think the team is handling it just fine. Had Minshew been balling so hard and winning, I would see the angst. But he wasn't playing that well, whether due to injury or teams scheming him up, or whatever.

If Foles completely [BLEEP] the bed you guys might have a gripe. But I honestly don't see that happening.

I’ve been timid about fully 100% jumping on the Minshew mania. The Titans game impressed me, the Denver/Jets games gave me cautious optimism. I was looking for a strong performance against the Texans. We didn’t have to win, but he had to show improvement in the red zone. I saw the same QB we saw against the Saints and towards the end pure desperation. I get it, the guy wanted to be a starter and once took a hammer to his hand to keep playing. He wanted to make something happen. In the end though, he had the highest fumbles in the league, and couldn’t hold his own against decent teams. Doesn’t mean I’m writing him off in the future, I’m just writing him off NOW. He needs time to develop.

We don’t know if Minshew will develop into the franchise QB we need. There is guarantee he will overcome his deficits. It’s great we even consider him possibly a franchise QB given he came out of the 6th round, but I think we need to be a bit cautious betting the farm on him.

This is why I advocate possibly drafting a true first round QB next year while we have the draft capital to do it. We don’t need just a good QB, we need a franchise guy that can come out and win any game for us. We can always trade a good QB or just accept a good QB as a back up. Back ups are important...a lot of playoff contenders right now are in the running because of good quality back up QBs.

We should totally draft another Bortles, or Gabbert, or Leftwich. Those 1st round QBs always pan out so well!

FTR, I am NOT in the draft a first round QB in 2020 group.

Solid talent but with our draft ammo I'd prefer to build up the OL with mauling guards, grab a run stuffing NT, add more talent to the back 7 on defense, and perhaps add another weapon to the offense at TE/WR/RB.

Then reevaluate Foles/Minshew after 2020 (one will emerge or both will flounder)
Perhaps leading us to drafting a 2021 first round QB.

I actually think best case scenario is Foles plays well, stays healthy, and we have a seamless passing of the torch from Foles to Minshew after 2020 where we are a playoff team but Foles retires or is released with little cap implications.
Minshew has a stellar 2021 campaign and becomes the highest paid QB entering 2022.

My interest in the NFL has been flopping over officiating the past few years and to be frank I’m of the belief franchise qbs are drafted not signed. Minshew gave the fan base hope of having a franchise qb to hopefully push the field level, Foles doesn’t inspire that in the slightest. Frankly I’d rather watch Bortles.

You better buy some shoes, something's gone wrong.

If I’m GM, I look and see if there is another Mahomes type guy there and I grab him. If not- everything you said makes sense. I would have a smile on my face no matter which direction they took, yours, or mine.

Anyone else get that vibe that the moment Foles retires he’s back on a jet to Philly? At this point that’s his hometown now. Guy will remain iconic in Philly until the day he dies.
Yeah guys we need Minshew off the field, can't have our QB making rookie mistakes like throwing into triple coverage in the last minute of a half.

Should have been his 2nd pick of the half too.

Oh wait...
Been a really great learning experience...
Everything I’ve thought of foles had been confirmed.
Thank god Foles has "steadied the ship". Offense looks as bad with him as it has all season
Surprising Foles isn't better. He's been sat watching minshew for weeks!
I'm really disappointed in how ineffective Foles was today.
I hope they keep trotting the 88 Million Dollar Man out there until everybody gets their fill of him. And realizes just how much Minshew elevated this team.

Gardner should be back as starter next week. Foles was beyond unimpressive. Great guy and leader, but we need someone mobile, and its time to start developing for the future.
Foles should be benched...consistently throws into double coverage....

The team has lost faith in Foles.... and the defense needs to learn how to tackle....

FYI, These referees are horrible....
We need our starter back..

I agree 100% but I don't think they make that change that fast. They probably leave foles in until we are mathematically eliminated which should be in 2 more weeks at this rate and then insert Minshew under the exploring our options clause.
Got to put games into Minshew and then use our draft capital to build him a line
Dear Nick,

thanks for the 5 quarters you seem like a nice guy but we're going in a different direction. Enjoy your retirement check and we wish you the best going forward.
Been saying it the whole time... Foles isn't any good lol.

Put Minshew back in...
