Joey Gatewood is officially in the transfer portal. He was set to commit to FSU prior to his visit to Auburn a few years ago. Hopefully he chooses FSU and gets cleared to play next season as a Soph and challenges then Junior QB James Blackman. FSU doesn't have anybody else waiting in the wings from their 2018-2019-2020 recruiting classes (as currently listed on rivals.com)

Jeff Sims from Sandalwood is a dual threat QB and is a 4 star that is class of 2020 and is committed to FSU (Briles recruited him). We also have Jordan Travis who was a transfer from Louisville but hasn't played.
Either way, it would be a HUGE get if FSU could land Gatewood or possibly King (as I believe he's transferring from Houston) and could redshirt Sims and have him waiting in the wings to start some sort of QB backlog.
I don't think James Blackman is going to see the field again in any meaningful minutes, barring an injury to Hornibrook, and could very well see him entering the transfer portal at the end of the season, just my $.02
He is transferring to the University of Kentucky!!!! Go Big Blue!!!!
