Personally, I think the NFL places too much emphasis on records.  I think we need to go to a Rankings system as determined by a poll of voters

Honestly, I feel when we lost Dareus to that season ending injury, that's when the sh*t hit the fan. Ever since he got hurt, everybody has gashed us on defense.
The Jaguars improved their draft position from #8 to #7.

If they keep it up they might be able to land Andrew Thomas at LT.

simple doug destroyed the jaguars, hes a terrbille head coach
I don't really know what is going on with this team. But most of them gave up after the London game. (Even though multiple players were acting like they were hyped about Nick returning to the starting lineup after that. And were acting like the Jags could make a legitimate playoff run). Their play has not reflected like that at all and the defense in particular has been atrocious. (An exception being Josh Allen). Outside of a few people they really don't seem to be motivated by anything. You would think they would at least play harder overall, so they don't continued to get embarrassed in blowouts like they have been the past several weeks.
Honestly do we throw the ball past the sticks? Could we even do that without a hold or a sack?

On defense can we not give up 100s of yards on 3rd and long?
With the first pick in the 2021 draft, the Las Vegas Jaguars select, Trevor Lawrence QB, Clemson.
I now have 3 extra hours of free time on Sunday for the next three weeks. I haven't done that since Gus had us deeply entrenched in the gutter. Gawd I hate this.
Ramsey was our heart believe it or not
We need Rex Ryan

Oakland.
No to Rex. Also. [BLEEP] Ramsey. Sick of hearing about that [BLEEP] [BLEEP] diva.

Hope he gets burned tonight and they lose so we get a better pick from the Rams.

[BLEEP] ! Forgot about it. Well, let's say San Antonio Jaguars then  Cry
Moving this team anywhere wouldn't help ....I'm not
sure anything would.
The Chargers are a pretty good team in a strong division.

Foles gift wrapping the ball for the other teams was a huge part of the skid.

Not being able to sustain drives because of a combination of horrible offensive line play and play calling gasses a defense as well.

I don’t think the defense is as bad as it seems to be. I think it’s coaching and being on the field a lot.

Offensive playcalling is trying to make up for the lack of protection with quick screens and dump offs. Just about every play and defenses have sniffed that out.

Team abandons the run quickly and it’s a little hard to blame them. Fournette doesn’t hardly make a run where he doesn’t get hit before getting back to the line.

So I guess my analysis is the line play is so bad that the playcalling hasn’t been very creative, defenses have keyed on it so the Jags can’t sustain drives, and the defense is getting gassed.

The fix in the offseason? Draft offensive line. Heavy. I would seriously consider using both 1’s on offensive line. Try to become a ball control offense with Fournette and then give Minshew some time when he’s needed to throw. Keep Minshew’s throws under 30 per game. Keep the defense off the field as much as possible and well rested.

Oh and fire the coaching staff
It started last year.

There was way too much 'me-first' mentality on this roster. Coaches let players do their thing, or sit on the sideline and not do anything, and the cancer of disrespect started spreading. Winning cures all ills. When we are winning, and the coaches bark motivation, instruction and strategy at the team, they pay attention. When that winning goes away, players begin to doubt, dismiss, or completely ignore what their coaches are saying.

We started the cleanup last season (RB coach and all but 1 RB let go), but at that point, the dismissal of all leadership was set in. You may have guys like Campbell, Fournette and such that are going to keep pushing through and trying to get something working, but the chasm between players and management is too big to overcome.

Look at Jack's ejection early in the year. He was consciously fighting with all coaches and staff trying to get him off the field, refusing to listen to anyone. What did the coaches do to reign that in? Campbell was the one to walk him off the field, and that's not his job. Unfortunately, he's the only guy Jack was willing to listen to.
The whole Ramsey thing was a snowball of issues between leadership and player and one or both sides refusing to find common enough ground to work things out.
The decision to put Foles in over Minshew. Players' effort changed when Minshew came back. You can't tell me guys didn't have more confidence in his abilities. If the players see the coaches making choices that put them at a disadvantage as a team, how are they going to get behind the next decision leadership makes?

This is the embodiment of the phrase, 'cut the head off, and the whole body dies.' Nobody on the team cares what the head is doing, so the body is nothing more than collective decay.
The Ramsey debacle was a distraction. I think losing Dareus really hurt. But what other changes do you account for?
We already have the same thread in "what the bleep happened?" I think you could just put this in that one.
