I like the lady playing as Triss in the show. She's pretty. It could have boiled down to acting over her hair color.

I didn't have a problem with the Triss actress at all, they got her character right. She's the kindest and most personable of the mages in the books from what I recall, and she's that way in the show too.
She's pretty for sure, but just doesn't fit the description of the character for me. Literally if she didn't say her name was Triss, I never would have thought it was her.
Chestnut hair, and in one book Yen straight up says "red hair," the actress' hair is too dark IMO, Blue eyes, supposed to look significantly younger. Plus she's supposed to be a bit more cheerful and naive in nature, which I'm not getting from the character.
Again, Anna Shaffer is very pretty, but someone like Natalie Dormer would have fit Triss' appearance much better.
