This. He was a highly accurate pocket passer coming out of college. He's not a scrambling kind of guy.
He said it over and over this year that he never really had to do that in college and he was doing it now because it worked.
I would rather that be his last ditch effort that he saves from time to time when you need it the most.
He suffered a knee injury and a groin injury this year. Had a brace on that knee at some point. Was working through a shoulder injury in the final game of the year.
Only way this team succeeds in 2020 is with a healthy Gardner Minshew or Nick Foles.

Too bad Minshew was never benched and we could compare apples to apples. He was one if not the best rookie QB last year.

I'd like to see him with better coaches and a front office that will actually bring in people to keep him from getting destroyed.

No doubt, when O'shaughnessy went out it seemed to slow him down a bit. With a true top shelf TE, he'll only be better.

Minshew has all my support for at least next year.
CBS sports ranked both Gardner and Josh Allen in their top 5 lists for best offensive and defensive rookies this season. Gardner was #4 on their list (and they said he would have been higher had he not been benched.) And Josh was ranked #2 on their defensive list for Rookies. Glad to see both of these players get some recognition on this list. I feel like Josh in particular hasn't gotten the praise he deserves from a lot in the media, so it's nice to see CBS say he was the #2 player of the defensive rookies:

Ok, it's late afternoon on New Years Day. Too many martinis and my mind goes sideways...
Now that the season has ended more lists and rankings are coming out regarding the rookies. PFF gave Gardner the overall highest season grade of the rookies. Monday Morning Quarterback/Sports Illustrated also had a list out ranking the rookies. Gardner didn't make that list, but Josh did at #3 for defensive rookies. Profootball talk also came out and said that Kyler Murray was their Offensive Rookie of the Year.
I wonder who the AP will end up nominating for the rookie awards. I think that this was a really good year for rookies in different positions. Not only did we have some impressive Rookie QB play, but some impressive Rookie RB's and WR's. An even an offensive lineman as well. Green's Bay guard Elgton Jenkins played well too, though he's not getting the attention the other rookies are getting.
And I saw it posted that this was the second time in NFL history that 3 rookie QB's threw for 20 or more TD's. (Gardner, Kyler, Daniel Jones.) The first time that happened it was in 2012, when Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and RGIII did it. I thought that was a cool stat and am glad that Gardner was apart of that:

I think it's going to be hard for the AP to decide who will end up being the final nominees for the OROY award. I've seen at least eight names thrown around as potential nominees. Though, some people definitely have a better shot than others. It will be interesting to see who they end up nominating. It's a shame they'll probably only nominate two people like they have in the past. I wish they would nominate at least five, but I don't think that will happen.
GMII is my one hope for the 2020 season .....and should be the teams as well.
Hope they don't screw it up.
