He's going to run fast.. The dude is a freak of nature. He long jumped 25ft in high school. He has vert 40", broad 11ft, box jumps 52" and has ran sub 4.4's last off season at Clemson.
Am I going to put a number on it? No, because I don't need to. But, I have no doubts he's going to run really fast and blow up the combine in about 10 days.

Simmons can do whatever the heck you want him to do.

But he can only do one thing at a time. So the question is, where would we play him where he would be better at that one thing than another pick would be at his one thing, and can we fit him into our team and scheme. For example, if we move Myles Jack to WLB, where does Simmons play? If we play Simmons at WLB, are we stuck with Myles Jack at MLB?

Just remember we aren't drafting anyone for what they are doing as rookies. You are drafting for the player you get on the length of their contract, so even if Simmons just plays as a standard off ball LB year 1 there's still a mountain of roles for him to use as the years go on, presumably with a better DC

I think what ever weight Simmons comes in will determine the position he wants to play. I'm hoping he comes in close to 240, maybe like 236 or 237. Would live it if they feel he can play MLB and they want to put Jack at WLB. For some reason I have a feeling Jack will stay at MLB and Cam stays at LT. Would love Jack to go to OLB and Cam at G

I think you can play mike just fine at 230

You can, but only if Wash adjusts his scheme so that the plan for the MLB is more than "run straight into the guard on every play".

Wash is going to be bad regardless so I'm not spending any time thinking about him but now much of that is Washs scheme and how much of that is Jack having no instincts or ability to diagnose plays?
I think you can argue that Washs fronts haven't been successful vs the run nor has been good at adapting in game (see Carolina) but jack is making basic errors over and over and over. Coming downhill to make a run fit is the most basic tenet of Myles job as Mike and he can't do it

Deion Jones is 222, Kendricks is 232, Leonard is 230 etc etc
Non issue for me, a few extra pounds wouldn't change my evaluation of him there with how long he is and with his diagnostic skills. 235 vs 230 isn't going to make much practical difference to any play.
Now would it hurt to throw a few more pounds on? I doubt it. Just doesn't matter for me either way

I'd have trouble passing over Simmons if he's there. I'd prefer a trench player first so I'd only take Brown and Kinlaw over him. But if both of those guys were to somehow be gone, I'd take Simmons at 9. Just because Wash is bad that's not a good reason to pass over the talent. Think beyond Wash.

Measured in at 6’3 238 pounds. He’s only going to get bigger and stronger in an NFL strength and conditioning program.
He would do just fine at Mike IMO.

100% agree.
I have ZERO doubt that Simmons will excel at any of the LB positions. I think he would fit nicely at MLB, not only for his athleticism but also his intelligence and instincts.
Plus, we can finally kick Jack over where he can hopefully only concentrate on doing one thing decently well - because he was out of position way too many times and looked overwhelmed/outplayed.

Well we better start praying.... Because it'll be a miracle if he's still on the board at #9...

4.39!!!
That changes my opinion quite a bit.
Of course, it probably changes a few more important people's opinions and now he won't be there at 9.
