Surprise - Here are my 10 best plays for Taylor.
Honorable mentions:
- The long run he had against Carolina at the age of 31 he ran away from DBs untouched
- The run against the Titans when he trucked the safety.
10. TD run up in Pittsburgh during the first beat down, in freezing temperatures during that amazing 2007 season.
9. First play of the night game against Miami at home he ripped off a 77 yard run on the first play of the game.
8. First game as a rookie against the Ravens he busted loose for a 52 yard TD.
7. Long, cutback run vs Patriots in our first ever home playoff game.
6. 84 yard TD vs Texans at home which was the longest run of the year for the entire league. And the 84 yarder he had against the Raiders. (He had two 84 yarders in 2007).
5. 1999 Playoffs vs Dolphins the catch where the announcer said you can’t explain what I just saw.
4. Running over Mike Doss at home vs the Colts for the game winning TD.
3. Catch vs Ravens when he outran Woodson to the end zone.
2. The run against Tampa in his rookie year when Boselli almost false started. 70 yard scamper.
1. 90 yard TD run vs Miami in 1999. They took Fred out after halftime. He literally could have had 300 yards rushing that day.
What are your top 5? Or 10?
Go ahead score in week 15 vs steelers in 2007 with 2 min on the clock:

This run made my list at #10.
Man I miss that oline and MJ spelling Fred. Not to mention the absolute hammer FB Greg Jones.
The run I despise is the one were he juked his groin off the bone.

Man I love that play.
Fred Taylor pulled a Deion Sanders and looked back at Mike Doss on the way to the endzone.
The one where he did a spin move between two colts defenders. They collided into eachother and I think he scored.
That was the day I think we had 327 yards rushing between him and MJD

That's one of my two favorites, too. I wonder, though, if many people know the context of that play and what led up to it. The thing is, for those who don't know the context, Fred was normally pretty quiet, but he made a point of calling out Doss the week before the game and saying he was going to "punish him" for something Doss did in a game a few weeks prior. And then late in the game, game on the line, here comes Fred, and there's Doss in the middle of the field right in front of him, and Fred just ran directly, squarely, over him and on into the end zone for the TD. And looked back at him as he went into the end zone.

It was a play that became legendary. Legends make plays like that.
He called his shot. Taylor said he was going to “punish” Doss and he did in spectacular fashion.
It’s not like it was in the 1st quarter, 2nd down and 7 yards to go with a score of 0-0. No no no.....
It was a game breaking play that was the winning TD in a divisional game on national TV AT HOME!
Legend.

If we ever erect a statue of a player outside the stadium, this is the exact picture that needs to be immortalized.
And damn if he didn't do it in the best jersey combo ever.

Your right.
A Fred Taylor statue needs to happen.
I was gonna post my own list but it seems the majority of his best plays were captured. A notable exception is the "baptisim" play against the Broncos where he one hand dunked their DB into the turf and kept running at full steam.
Fred may beat Bosselli into the HoF. You heard it here first.
Patriots legend Fred Taylor.

The Miami run for sure.
His entire game at Three Rivers Stadium.
Mike Doss truck.
Jamie Sharper stiff arm.
Screen play against the Chargers for the win.
Other than the Mike Doss play, I'd say my favorite play was the 70 yard TD to win the game against the Bucs. I saw it live, and that was one of the best football plays I've ever seen live.
It's at the 1:20 mark of this video:

Fred Taylor was clocked at a 4.39 I think.
But I feel like he had 4.2 Chris Johnson type game speed. That run against Tampa in his early years, he was absolutely turned up full speed and he just separated from DBs.
We’re talking DBs with world class speed. Taylor had another gear.
Btw I also think Fred could make it in the HOF as the first Jaguar ever.
What happened to his son? He went to a few teams practice squads and was never heard from again.
I miss those halcyon days. No cares and a dominate team. Well except against the Titans.

Yes, every time I see highlights from that era, I think, wow, those teams had some serious talent. We had 3 Hall-of-Fame level players on our offense at the same time!
