Congratulations! Excellent news!

It's amazing how the human body adapts and more specifically how it adapts to sleep.
I remember before my kids were born I would have a tough time functioning on 9 hours of sleep. Now, if I get 6 hours, I'm rocking and rollin babay! Congrats on the new baby my dude. Cherish the little moments (very cliche) because before you know it you'll say "Man. I miss the days where they would just sit there and not move." lol

I used to sleep forever...every morning...until my first daughter was born. Ever since then, something happened to my internal clock and I'm up when the sun is shining and generally much earlier.

Good Luck !!!
As far as what...sleep?
My first daughter slept so much we thought something was wrong with her. Asked the doctor about it a few times. He basically just told us 'some kids are like that'. Of course my wife and I thought, what's the big deal about this parenting thing. Then we had the second one. Oy vey.
Every age brings its own unique set of challenges until they grow up and move out. After that...it's their problem.

Yes!!! Every age brings its own joys/struggles. After each I was relieved she got past it. Only to realize there was more parenting to do. Each phase has its pros and cons. You’ll be happy when all they do is sleep. Then you’ll be happy that they can only crawl but then get upset you need to watch them more. It goes on. Next you’ll be asking “Who put Vick’s on the cheese it’s?” Plus one to whoever gets that obscure reference.
I will say this though. My parents live less than a mile away. My daughter has yet to stay the night. And I can not remember a time I asked them to babysit other than she’s sick and can’t go to school.
But, you very well may be cooler than me. Doubtful, but I’ll open the possibility of that being the case.

Everything. The initial 6 months of the 1st child is kind of thankless as you walk around like a zombie. After 6 months, an 2-way interaction begins to develop and any thoughts of selling your child on Ebay begin to diminish.

My wife gave birth to our first child. My Son was born on my fathers birthday. He is also the 6th so it was awesome to get the picture of my father, my son, and myself(4th, 5th, and 6th).
It has been a crazy 9 months but seeing him come into the world healthy and with no complications was one of the happiest moments of my life.
My wife and I also finalized the purchase of our first home in January. So this has been a hectic start to the year. But it has honestly been an amazing experience.
The Jaguars just got a new fan.
Congratulations. If your child is noisy, be sure to take it to whatever restaurant homebiscuit frequents.

Noisy kids get a latte and a free puppy.

Nothing calms a child like caffeine and an even more boisterous young canine.

Enjoy every moment you can, they really do grow up in the blink of an eye.
Very true,... especially as you grow older. It's like not long ago I was picking up my grandson from daycare/preschool. He now is able to drive my tractor(s) and do so much around our property. Before we know it he's going to be driving our trucks on the road.

What is funny to me is that my grand father had 4 girls before my father. But my father and me both had a boy to carry the name both as our first born.
It honestly wasn’t as important to me as some people think since you don’t see names carry on that far as much any more. But I also didn’t want to be the one in my line to break the chain. Our name has been through a lot I suppose.

That’s great news some things to remember. You can never spend to much time with them. You can never be to forgiving. Put aside all notions of who you think your kid will be they won’t be anything you expect, they have their own interest and personality and it’s a challenge and joy to watch them find it.
I’ve regretted being to harsh on my oldest son in the past once I accepted he is different than me our relationship has blossomed. Love your family man it’s easy right now but it’ll get harder and that’s when you have to love them more.
Happy for you enjoy this time!
