Well, they're at least trying. So far I was right. They're using free agency to fix their defense up and should hopefully aim to bolster the offense via the draft. The first round is loaded with defensive talent. But it's a weird window where you'll probably see the top players all go off the board at DE, CB, DT & LB early. And then that 2nd tier kind of gets muddy.

Should be looking at an OT or WR with both picks on opening night.

Naw, we still need a DT.  I think Brown or Kinlaw is very much in play there.  I honestly would like Brown to fall to 9 and I'd even trade up fro 20 to take Kinlaw
We have plenty of picks. We have enough chips that we can move around the board if we need to.

Don’t expect a former 1st round pick to be anything special. We all thought the same thing with Prince Amukamura.

I think Hayden is on the trade block...
So we have two corners who have proven to be really good inside and really bad outside...

With the number of holes present on the defensive side, it wasn't any stretch to think that our team would be utilizing FA to target defensive players.

But that doesn't preclude them from focusing on defense in the draft still.

I'd run up to the podium immediately if Simmons/Brown/Okudah were available at #9 - and if the draft was to fall this way, I'd like us to focus on OT/CB (if we didn't get Okudah)/WR (if Ruggs is available).

Unless they plan to move Hayden outside. Because this guy is good, good.

You sleeping on Kinlaw

If those defensive players are off the board at #9 with Kinlaw and Wirfs/Becton, I'd go with Wirfs/Becton over Kinlaw.
Good signing.

Him and Schobert are not big names FA, but they are doing their job very well.
I know nothing of Dennard so quess who has some homework to do?

This Guy.

NH3...

Just found this. Guess he’s playing outside.
I like the sound of this, from his draft profile.

“Big, strong, athletic, instinctive press-man corner who elevated his game as a senior. Is deceptively fast and has the desirable size to match up with big receivers.“

Welp.

Guess it’s worth a shot.

You might even say 3, since Herndon looked very good at nickel when he had time there too.

I think we can bank on a CB being drafted before the third round and likely before the second if good value is there.

Well, he was cheap.  Likely they plan to let him compete with Herndon and a late pick for the #2 spot and they'll draft early for a #1 CB.

Those numbers make me view this FA acquisition a lot more favorably.
Yeah that price isn't bad. If that's all he could command I'm real surprised other teams weren't in on him to be their slot guy. His outside tape must be that bad.
I do not see him taking Hayden's job.

That's not why they signed him.
He'll compete for #2 with Herndon.
