Wait until we trade Ngakoue to Eagles for two first
Foles is at least a B since many speculated we'd have to give away a pick to move him.
The Bouye deal was a cap casualty situation and I won't grade it until the team has acquired his replacement and I can evaluate that player.
Campbell is very much like Bouye's situation and it's effectiveness hinges upon the Ngakoue holdout conclusion and/or a SSDE acquisition.
Thats a stupid article. Foles is a B at worst. And Bouye is an A. We were going to cut him for nothing and instead got a 4th rounder out of it. The only bad trade in my mind was Campbell. Have a hard time believing that is the best we could get.

Agreed.
Think we could’ve got more for Calais but it sounds as if the Jags were trying to do Calais a favor and trade him to a team that he wanted to go to.
They managed to get their salary cap up to $20M. That's with Yannick Ngakoue still being potentially traded this off season and with more cuts potentially between A.J Cann, Abry Jones and Marqise Lee if they end up adding quality players in next month's draft to replace them with.
I don't mind ANY of the trades so far because this was a historically BAD defense last year WITH Bouye, Campbell and Ngakoue on it. Not saying they were all responsible for it. But it was going to take a lot of retooling and reworking this off season to fix it slightly and having that cap space allows that to start happening now.
They did Campbell a service by shipping him off to Baltimore. That's what good players deserve. That's what good locker room guys deserve. And this front office is trying like hell now to repair and restore it's public image with the NFLPA. Bouye gets to go to Denver. Campbell gets to go to Baltimore. Foles gets to go to Chicago.
All three of those guys are going to teams that can compete right away with higher opportunities to showcase their abilities to aim for a bigger contract when the time comes around. We're over here trying to rebuild with 12 selections so far after they "hopefully" caught some much needed lightning in a bottle last year with Minshew.
The odds of this team going from 6 - 10 to 10 - 6 in 2020 are slim to none. Keeping those guys here while they can still compete would have been a disservice. Especially when you consider that none of them were locker room cancers nor trying to rock the boat.

And then you look at other grades: Campbell will be 34 when the season starts and we get a 5th for him while sending him to a team of his liking and it's a C-. The Titans send a 30 years old Casey to the Broncos for a 7th and they get the same C-. lol
We get a C for trading away a QB we wouldn't need to save a lot of money and be cap free next year with a rebuild ahead collecting a 4th rounder when most people thought we'd have to send compensation and it's a C.
Chicago trades a 4th rounder for that QB, to a team that many thought needed to trade away picks to get rid of his contract to try and save their offense from the guy they not only took with the 2nd overall pick but also after beeing fleeced by the 49ers into trading up one spot giving away two third rounders and a 4th and they get a B.

Bouye is at the very least a starting CB2 on any team in the nfl, and is probably #1 on many. He was never going to be let go for nothing.
