Tua might slide right on down the board. Mike Lombardi is claiming that there are injuries that have gone unreported. Certainly when you add it all up, the guy has a lot of broken parts. If this is all true, I could see him sliding right past our 9th pick. He's a huge risk.
“It’s not just his hip,” Lombardi said. “It’s his ankle. It’s his wrist. He broke his wrist the first day of spring ball one year. And then they fixed it. He came back and broke it again. He’s brittle. He is brittle. You can’t deny it.”
Wow. I was hoping, like all of us, that he would definitely fill one of those 2-8 draft slots and push one of our dream guys to us.

Still can happen, we'll see.
Thought this was pretty much the case with him. This was always a major concern with him. There's been reports that he may very well end up slipping right on down to the Patriots. And Belichick may not start him right away if they like Stidham and end up picking-up a veteran like Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles or Jameis Winston. They already brought Brian Hoyer back.
I really have felt all along that once Joe Burrow is off the board that guys like Herbert and Tagovailoa could very easily slip out of the top ten. Miami is the team to watch with Tagovailoa. They're hard to gauge. But they could be in the market for Cam Newton or Andy Dalton as well. And they may actually still have high hopes for Josh Rosen.
There is the strong possibility someone is leaking this information in the hopes he falls to them. The Coronavirus has changed much about the pre draft process, but not everything.

This story sounds like it was planted on Lombardi to spread by one of his former colleagues so his colleague's team can benefit from a slide. It may be true, but why now?
Heard something about him yesterday. If he can't escape the pocket in college he sure won't in the NFL. No thanks on him. He will be on IR the 1st game.

But if it's true, who cares why now?

Even if this was leaked for someone's benefit, the much more important question is, is it true.

I don't know if it's true, TBH.
On the one hand, given his injury history, it may not be a total shock if he has failed two physicals at this point post hip surgery.
On the other hand, teams can't conduct physicals due to the Coronavirus. It's doubtful Tua would take any physicals-much less share the results with the teams-if he knew he would/did fail them.

Bingo.
It’s lying season in full effect right now. Someone wants Tua to fall.

It’s got Belichick’s finger prints all over it.
The value of a QB, especially one as talented as Tua, will not allow him to free fall very far. If he drops to pick 1-9, the Jags would have an interesting choice.
They could take him, play Gardner, and sit Tua for the year. If Gardner works out, Tua could likely be traded a year later and get more than the round 1 pick used. If Gardner doesn't work out, the Jags would have a healthy potentially elite level QB in Tua ready to go on a rookie contract for 4 more years.
Or, they could likely field trade offers for someone wanting to move up for Tua at 1-9.
Tua is the elephant in the room that will grow larger and larger as the first 8 picks go by. Wow, if he hits 9 that's gonna be a tough decision for the Jags brass.
I’m gong to file this one along with the last-minute reports that teams believe Henderson is better than Okudah or that Kinlaw will get picked before Brown.
They could be true, but seems a bit suspicious.

Or Miami. They’ve done nothing to address the QB position but have been aggressive in free agency everywhere else. If they aren’t able to trade up into the top 2 wouldn’t it be their advantage to start rumors in hope that Tua would fall to a more reasonable spot, or scare away any suitors considering trading above them?
