The answer lies above.
LoL for years people complained that we need to get away from this "old school" fullback. So we go with two TE sets (which is the new hype in the NFL) and now its "we need to go back and get a full back".

Couldn't tell if serious or not at first but my mind is completely blown now.
Quote:The question, "Do you know who his father is?" implies he is thinking about Luke Del Rio, son of Jack, and trying to make a joke of it. Unless you breed cats you don't know who their sires are.

Yes sire, may I have another sire?

Regards..................the Chiefjag

But there is Alualu. He is a top 10 pick. Surely he is the best FB in the league!!

It's amazing. I really is.
Until the O-Line gets better, yeah a FB is needed as a band-aid. I don't think you bring in a traditional FB to take up a roster spot. What happened to all the different blocking formation from preseason? They were using a TE in the backfield and it was working for the most part.

Gus happened, then 4 years later we have this.

But in all fairness, they seem to be wanting to be too cute with the play calling and it's "Marquise Lee'ing" us

Wasn't that about the same time we no longer had a "good" running back like Fred and Maurice? Don't think it is too cute play calling, it seems to be too safe. Query stands; what happened to the TE in the backfield during run plays? Heck, what happened to going "heavy" and running up the middle? We don't have an outside the tackles runner on this team.
Sticking a FB on the field will just bring more defenders into the box... running will get harder. This is not a good idea.

If getting a fullback will get us to averaging 4.2 yards per carry then I say let's do it. Does anyone know what our backs average per carry is right now?

They're already stacking the box now. We're not taking any deep shots so they're playing closer to the LOS.
Right now we are averaging 2.8 YPC and our opponents are averaging 4 YPC. How hard would it be for us to find a good blocking/receiving FB?

We still need a Fullback.
So far this season, the Jags have shown very little to impress anyone with their running game. Highly unlikely BOTH TJ & Chris are lousy runners so something is clearly amiss with their running attack from a blocking scheme. Perhaps Toby was NOT quite as lousy as 99% of this board assumed he was because the (2) guys we got now haven't exactly overwhelmed any defenses this year either. Like I say, the likelihood of both these guys being sub par runners is slim to none. Something's going on here & if they don't find a way to get some really impressive numbers from their running game.........they're gonna be in for another long season. The Bears are NOT exactly a top echelon team and how we managed to pull a rabbit out of that hat is beyond me. However, a win is a win.

old news broski
When we run out of strong formations we are actually pretty successful most of the time. It's the Shotgun draws and zones that are useless and supposed to keep the defense honest but really all it is is a waste of a down. Our coaches don't realize this though.
