Jaguars GM expects Fournette to be with team in 2020

The rumor mill seemed to suggest that Leonard Fournette's time in Jacksonville could soon be coming to an end. According to Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell, that ending isn't expected to happen in 2020.

This would open Up the passing game tremendously as well.. making it much easier for Minshew

Maybe use an H-back/TE, but it would be lame to add an extra roster spot and game-day activation just to cope with having an old-school back. It would also tip off the defense when the FB is in the game.

Yeah.. I’m gonna have to totally disagree with you here. Our offense performed much better with a FB. (see 2017) We could and should easily dump one of our injury prone TEs to make room for a fullback.

I'll agree as well. That is where game planning with counters, traps and other disguises keep from tipping the defense.... oh wait never mind we have Marrone.
Im super excited. My #27 jersey lives on. I will be wearing on game day. More importantly, we might have a mad and motivated fournette. Him and #15 are going to be in beast mode

This may be his best year, hes auditioning for his next team/payday.
Let me put this in Layman's terms:
We could not trade him so we are stuck with him this year!

That's what I'm talking about. Ride him like a mule this year. Get the rookie contract value out of him; keep the other guys fresh for 2021 to begin Minshew's glory years or Lawrence/Field's rookie year.
This is a win win for LF and the Jags. He will need to have his best year as a pro in order to earn that second pay day.

Hey if he gains 1500 and 10 then you keep him, if he puts up 1100 or less then let him walk. Or if he’s having a monster season you extend him and make him happy.
Same with Yan. This is the pros son. Enough with all the tweets to Khan back and forth, just play and the chips will fall in your favor.

Fournette will have a monster year, but Dave will let him go into free agency so we can rent another (hopefully better) young RB for 4 years.
Yan will be on pace to another 10 sack year, but with the team out of playoff contention later in the season Chaisson will begin taking more of his reps. He'll get overpaid in free agency but not close to the $19M/year he was originally offered. He'll probably have to live under a bridge earning only $10M/year from the Iggles/Raiders in 2021 -- I don't see how he'll be able to support his family on that either.
