Quote:Maybe he suffers from depression and he doesn't know it. With medication, he might play better
Depression? Not with Gus around. He makes sure his players are happy at all times.
Quote:All I know is that if coach would have put you in, we'd have taken state. No doubt in my mind.

On a side note, how's that time machine coming along?
Time machine is doing great, I just have to order a few more parts. Thinking about taking the siding off my house to construct a shed, maybe some shingles too.
Blake should not have done that, but he is not a coward. Until now, he has been a stand up guy and good team leader. Obviously, the pressure of getting this team over the hump is getting to him- both mentally and physically. He needs to see a sports psychologist to get help with this. This is a critical time for him. Everybody had Josh Freemon as an elite q.b. after 1 good year and look what happenned to him.

Remember thy name
I don't think he was being a coward. A man's psyche can only take so much losing. I could believe he was literally nauseous to the point of wanting to hurl and curl up in the fetal position, due to he and his team's nauseating game play. He probably wanted to get out of Dodge before the stadium caved in on him.

That is not at all what happened to Freeman. I am from Tampa, and it was well known that Freeman was constantly out in the Hyde Park area partying nightly. He was basically Manziel Jr., and really didn't care.

That being said I agree with you about Bortles. The pressure is weighing on him big time. It shouldn't be that way with a young quarterback, but it is here. He gets no help from the run game at all, and it is obvious he needs it.

Gus has actually had a more toned down attitude since this off season began.  I'm sure he's still positive but it's very much different than years past.  He's trying to be tough but it's just not him.  I'm sure every player can tell that Gus is crushing under pressure as well.

Pressure either busts pipes or makes diamonds...guess which way our team is heading right now?
