Full Version: What Trump Says About His Own Appointments

Here is a list of people hired by Trump, and what he thinks about them now, in his own words:

John Kelly: “in way over his head.”  “went out with a whimper.”
Michael Cohen: “not a very smart person.” “bad lawyer.” “fraudster.”
Steve Bannon: “sloppy Steve.” “cried when he got fired and begged for his job.”
Omarosa Newman:  “not smart.” “lowlife.”  “wacky.”
Jerome Powell: “clueless.”  “As usual, Powell let us down.”
Anthony Scaramucci: “highly unstable.”  “nut job.”
Jeff Sessions: “mentally [BLEEP].”  “a dumb Southerner.”  “Mr. Magoo.”
Rex Tillerson: “dumb as a rock.”  “lazy as hell.”
John Bolton: “incompetent.” “wacko.”
James Mattis: “the world’s most overrated general.”  “glad he is gone.”

Most of these people were at the very top of his administration.  And in his own words, Trump says all these were bad appointments.  It begs the question: if all these high level appointments were bad appointments, then isn't the person who appointed them incompetent?  Or is he just a liar, and these weren't really bad appointments?  He's either a liar or he's incompetent, one or the other.  Which one is it?
¿Por qué no los dos?

Maybe both, but at least one.

Exacto.

We kind of already talked about this. Swamp creatures disguise themselves well at first. IMO, an "incompetent" person would have kept them in place.

For the record, his statements seem pretty accurate after the fact, no?
This made me laugh...

Trump famously said during the 2016 presidential election that if he becomes president he would “surround myself only with the best and most serious people. We want top of the line professionals.”

But in the past three and a half years, there’s been high turnover in the White House, and Trump has attacked many of the people he once hired, such as former attorney general Jeff Sessions, whom he now despises.

At an event at the White House on Thursday, as reporters were escorted out of the room, one correspondent yelled to the president: “Why do you keep hiring people that you believe are wackos and liars?” — the names he’s called Bolton.

Trump sat stone faced and ignored the question.
