Where are you getting your numbers? Here it is showing 14th in EPA and 15th in QB rating

He's:
Passing rating: 6th
AY/A: 3rd
TD%: 9th
INT%: 9th
ANY/YA: 5th

I didn't like the contract either but...
I am stopping well short of agreeing with you that a healthy Minshew is better than a healthy Watson.
Watson is a top 10-15 QB in the league while Minshew is a spot starter/back up my friend.
Watson will NEVER be as good as Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, imo. And will likely be passed up by younger guys like Murray and Burrow and maybe Allen as time goes on.
But his gaudy contract will probably go from 2nd best to 6th or 7th best in the next year or two as the next round of contracts roll in. Tis the nature of the beast. You either have a QB or you don't. If you have one, then you gotta pay em, even if he isn't worth all that you give him.
With all that said, he has 2 first round tackles, 1 being a top 3 LT, and 2 1st round WRs. They try to give him all the help they can but with his 2 wins and one of the biggest QB contracts, he put his team in a bind and can't get them over the hump
Oh and he now has the 2nd highest passer rating of all time (minimum 1500 attempts).
Only behind Rodgers.
But hey. He’s not better than Minshew.

He looked good yesterday for sure. I don’t think he will push them over .500, but he might do well enough to keep them even.
Hopefully they continue to fail to build around him.
