He left so many throws on the field that a franchise QB makes with ease. He had shown a play here and there each game where his lack of arm talent was holding us back in the past, but every shortcoming was on display all at once this game.
Unless everything is perfect and he can go through his full throwing motion with his feet under him and proper weight transfer he just doesn't have nearly a good enough arm to make the throws he needs to make.
Honest question, do you want to continue to spend draft capital hoping you can find the needle in a haystack QB that doesn’t need any help from his teammates to be great, doesn’t need more than .03 seconds of protection to make throw and can do it all on the run every time?
Or would it be better to say what we have is pretty good given the right tools, let’s use our draft capital to give him the tools to be successful?
For the short term, you could still keep both players (the drafted QB and Minshew).

Agreed. Good teams need good QB's. You cannot stick with a mediocre QB. No one is saying cut Minshew, I think he can be a good lifetime backup, but we have to keep looking for a franchise QB until we find one.

Shad isn't going to start tinkering piecemeal with the staff nor should he. He might fire Marrone and then let the intierm coach do it. Or have Caldwell do it more likely.

We have terrible coaches for us to have the same team the first 2 weeks and we just continue to get worse. We have decent players but the coaches don't know how to get the most out of the players. They need to be fired.

Impressions...
1. The defense played better today....despite our 3 best players out? That itself is a question.
2. The offense's execution seemed spotty to be polite.
3. We made JJ Watt relevant again. This is the first game in a long time that has happened.
4. We had to set some kind of record for shooting our self in the foot.

Our overall talent level blows. You can keep saying its the coaches (which I agree to an extent), but we just have a brutal roster.

Falcons fired Quinn
Khan is more and more looking like a hands-off, “as long as I amking money I don’t care” owner. There is no excuse for this staff or GM to be here any longer

This "awful talent" had no problem keeping up defensively with Houston for the first half even without 3 of our best players. Houston adjusted, we had no answer. That's on coaching, not talent at that point.
Same with the offense, we scored 27 on a good Colts defense, and 30 against Tennessee. We have offensive talent with Wars that can't ever seem to get open anymore, that's on coaching as well.

He fired the Dimitroff too, the GM. And they have had WAYYYYY more success than we have had in Duval. Its going to happen at the end of the season here.

We have terrible coaches because we have average players. We have average players because the front office can't retain talent. The front office looks bad because the coaches aren't good. See they all can blame each other and fight it out another year.
The owner is overly patient and honestly I don't know what he thinks about it.

Owners don't fire assistant coaches.

These were the 3 Jaguars players ( along with P Logan Cooke ) that also jumped out to me from a positive Jaguars standpoint. I watched this game closely, with the Jaguars being the next Lions opponent.
#94 kept getting my attention, especially in the first half. Dawuane Smoot was making plays repeatedly that often don't show up on the stat sheet but the coaches offer plenty of praise when the team / units watch the game tape together.

The only positive from this game is we might have our corner opposite CJ. Jones and Henderson might be our future at corner if they can stay healthy
Jarrod Wilson was a positive as well. Hes not a star but he is a decent player and not a liability, he makes a difference for our secondary when he's on the field

I expected Smoot to emerge sooner than this, but better late than never.

Jones impressed.
I don't know if the checkdowns are by design or by tutelage, but Gruden needs to work with GM15 on that. It seemed far too frequent that GM was dumping the ball off before our receivers had a chance to get open.
Hauschka should be a free agent again by the time you read this. Is Long Ding still kicking?
Biggest impression? We are in a big pickle thanks to our excessive patience. Doug and his staff should have been let go at the end of last season. We might have been able to mend fences with Yan, for one thing. As we continue to see more vacancies arise, though, we're going to be in a situation where coaching candidates are going to be able to take their pick of jobs, and I don't know that we're going to be the belle of the ball. First Houston, now Atlanta. Who else adds to the list? Minnesota? NYJ? Heck, the Giants? With the exception of maybe the Jets, we're probably at the bottom of desirability for any potential hire. Yay us.

I'd say Sidney Jones was the best Jaguar on the field yesterday
