If Giants pick 1st, they are taking Lawrence.  Whoever picks 1st is taking Lawrence.

If it isn't us pray that the Bengals somehow get it. They're probably the only team that has a realistic chance that would consider trading the pick.

Yeah, agreed.  They are the only team that wouldn't take him.  I know they would take Sewell or trade back to 2 and take Sewell

In an interview today, Falcons owner Arthur Blank refused to commit to Matt Ryan as the future QB. He said "it isn't up to me."

If they did take a QB and we miss out on Lawrence, maybe the best option would be for us to trade down and acquire an additional 1st rounder in 2022. We then use all of the 2021 picks to build the defense and possibly add a LT and a TE as well. We then look into getting QB Matt Ryan as a short term fix and go all in on a franchise QB in 2022 with the additional first round we add in the 2021 draft by trading down. It's not like we're gonna turn this thing around overnight anyway. We might as well do things the right and complete all the tasks. We have a lot of holes to fill before we're anywhere near being a playoff team, so if we have to play the long game, so be it. I see us as being 3-4 years away from being really competitive and that's if everything goes right from here on out.

I may have worded what I said wrong, or you're agreeing with me. Just to clarify:

I think the order will be: NYJ, NYG, JAX, WAS, ATL.

Ugh! So we miss out on Lawrence and we miss out on Sewell? I'm definitely trading back. Acquire first round picks for the 2022 draft.

I have faith both NY teams will win 3 games this year.  The Giants looked good against Dallas and play in a lousy division; the Jets should be getting some guys back from injury soon.  If they get 3, we will finish behind them.
I think this is the year we should restack the defense and add a O-linemen. Dallas and Atlanta show you can't consistently win with absolutely horrible defense and great offenses. Pray we avoid the divas like Ramsey, build a defense resembling the 2017 defense. I believe this offense can do enough to win us alot of games if the defense is anything like 2017.

Agreed, Lawrence and Sewell should be 1 and 2 on our board though no matter what happens
If Trey Lance is available when Jags pick TAKE HIM!

Nah.

If you're still at 2, and the Giants pass on Lawrence at 1, abso-frickin-lutely. Ryan will be 36 next year. Heck Julio is 31 already, I didn't realize either of them were that old.

I firmly believe though, that much like the tinhorns, dropping the dead weight head coach gets them back on track and they win their way out of consideration.

....or they are shopping the pick to the highest bidder. As long as Jones doesn't look like Gabbert without Saquon, they'll stick with him at least one more season.

I'm cool with that if you are applying this statement to the Vikes' pick in the second.

Daniel Jones actually played pretty well Sunday. Get the Giants a defense and Saquan back and they'll be okay.

I don't see them making a change at QB.

Teams that will be in the hunt for a QB imo - Jets, Skins, Jags, clots. Some other teams that could be in the QB hunt, Saints, Falcons, Lions, Pats.
Think Brees retires and Winston may or may not be in their future plans, think ATL could trade Matt Ryan, same with Detroit. Pats have Newton on a 1 year deal.
There could be a lot of QB movement next year.

If a team comes to us and says they are willing to sell the farm for our pick, i would have a hard time turning it down. We have so many gapping holes its like watching a low budget gang bang. Give me a couple more first and second rounders and this team can actually load up. Fill all the holes and turn this into an academy award winning porno.

Depending on where we are picking, who would be available at the time, and what we would receive in return for our pick... I could be down with this idea.

Getting Matt Ryan as a free agent is an interesting scenario, though an unlikely one.  However, I would think that would help us in the immediate 2021-22 seasons and allow us to take our time developing some rookies.

According to the draft trade value chart, if the Jags end up with the #1 or #2 pick and Miami says I will give you both #1's that would equal out. (As long as the two Miami picks are between #8 and #15.)

So what does the new GM do with three #1's, two #2's, a 3rd, and two #4's.

So our #1 picks would be from Miami, Houston, and Minnesota... who have a total of 4 wins after 5 weeks right now.  3 first round picks in the Top 12??!?!?!  I'm down with that! I don't see Miami doing that though... they are gonna roll with Tua.
Whatever we do we need to improve our lines. We have a few players but not enough. You can have all the skill players in the world but if we are pushed around in the trenches it will be for naught.

I'm betting more could be squeezed out of a team that really wants Lawerence. Man oh man how nice it would be to fill in some of those holes with those picks.

The team that gets the first pick won't be trading out of it.  Just like the team that got the first pick when Burrow and Luck came out
