4. Jaguars DE Dante Fowler has recorded a 15.2 run-stop percentage this season, second-best for 4-3 defensive ends.

In Fowler’s first healthy year with the Jaguars, the DE hasn’t brought as much pressure as Jacksonville might like, but he has been a force against the run, recording five run stops on 33 run snaps. He’ll be facing Ricky Wagner often this week, a player who has done well in pass protection, but not as much as a run blocker. The Ravens haven’t been very successful running the ball so far in 2016, and Fowler could be a big reason why that will remain the case for a third straight game.

why you hate blake so much? who else you would have a qb besides him that's available?
The young guys have played well, just tough to ask them to win when you don't put players in a position to succeed

But he's a bust because he didnt have 5 sacks in the preseason

Fowler played very well in the lost last week, one of the few players on the team that did

It's nice to see Fowler play well.

This right here folks.

He also probably would have had a sack or two week one of the Packers weren't getting away with holding.
I just went back and watched the coaches tape and watched all of Fowler's snaps. Fowler is REALLY good against the run. They weren't really busting long runs with Fowler in the game. He consistently holds the edge and chases down runs from the backside. He is always around the ball and affecting the run or making the tackle. His pass rush basically sucks right now because he isn't doing anything other than just jumping right into the tackle, but his run defense is great.

On the flip side, Ngakoue had his hands full when it came to "attempting" to stop the run.

We've had this problem with a lot of DEs we've drafted, where we pick them to become pass rushers and they only amount to being very good at stopping the run.
Lord, threads about ARob and Fowler being concerns. Sheesh. Tho to be fair to OP, was not started as criticism. Not your fault. Fowler and Ramsey have been the lone bright spots on this D so far.

that's available? nobody. i don't hate blake, i actually like the guy. but he needs to improve a lot if we want to be a playoff team.

The problem is the dumb coaching staff wants to force Fowler to be a DE pass rusher, where as he is better rushing from standing up blitzing from all over, thats what he did at UF, he should be used like Von Miller, Fowler should be the OTTO and then moved to LEO at different times, but they want to force him to be 100% hands down pass rusher.

Same thing with Jack, they are forcing the players in to the system, instead of letting the players play to their strengths

Fowler may get better as a hands down DE but its gonna take more time since he didnt do it all the time in college

Thanks for posting, this is an interesting nugget. Khalil Mack was also dominant (against the run) as a rookie, wasn't nearly as effective as a pass rusher. Lets hope Dante has a similar trajectory.
shhh you can't post anything good about the Jaguars.

Good to hear. PFF is a quality site imho.

It's also good to know that Dante is the team's sack leader. I don't expect him to relinquish that title too easily.

Aaaaand Gus Bradley didn't even start him. God that guy sucks.
