I take this question to mean players only, no coaches. We have to get the HC position right though. That is obvious. We need to play the right scheme to match the players we have.
1. QB- If we don't get this right, nothing else matters.
2. LT- I don't wanna see what happened to Joe Burrow, end up happening to our new QB. Cincinnati put the cart before the horse and put a great, young franchise QB behind a garbage O-Line and the results were disastrous. The interior play by the O-Line has been much better this year, but the Tackles have not played well, particularly Jawaan Taylor. If Robinson wants a big contract, we gotta let him walk. He's serviceable at best. We need to stabilize at least one of the OT spots.
3. Edge Pass Rush- This spot was hard for me to figure out. There are so many options. I was thinking 3 Technique, Safety, TE and Nickle. All need to be addressed in one way or another, but our edge pass rush has been non-existent this year. Opposing QB's have sat back in a clean pocket and picked us apart. Whether we add a 4-3 DE to play opposite Josh Allen or whether we switch to a 3-4 formation and move Allen and Chaisson to OLB's where they are a more natural fit, the edge pass has to be addressed. Without pressure on opposing QB's, our defense will never improve.

Another area i forgot to add was linebacker. I would like to see an upgrade opposite of Jack.
I think we have the pieces for a pretty good 34, so I'd like to see some widebody linemen and a few more LBs. I don't know that Schobert fits that alignment, but I think Quarterman would make a good ILB while Jack, Allen, Chaisson, Q. Williams...we have several guys that look like they can play standing up outside. then there's guys like Correa and Jacobs who might fit as well if you can slide Jack to ILB as well.
I'm in total agreement with this. Chaisson is a much better fit at 3-4 linebacker. He and Josh Allen would be able to generate the pass rush missing from the team this season. Correa is a guy worth keeping and would provide quality depth as an outside pass rusher. I'm not sure what Williams could do due to his lack of playing time so far, but he could also contribute if healthy.
The inside 3-4 backer position would have Jack, Schobert and Quarterman- as you mentioned. One guy I'd love to see drafted for this spot would be Nick Bolton from Missouri. He might be available with one of their 2nd round picks.
The nose tackle position could be played by Hamilton, although I'd like to see him move to one of the 3-4 D.E. spots. Al Woods has indicated that he'd like to return next season and he has been a very good run-stuffer in the past. Due to his age, however, he would likely be good for only a year or two and would need to be rotated. Drafting a nose tackle would be a priority. Fortunately, finding a run-stuffing nose tackle without great pass-rushing skills should not be that difficult. It looks like a deep group at this position. Ideally, they could get their guy at the top of round 3 with Tyler Shelvin and Jordon Davis being the top priorities now.
Finding defensive ends for this scheme would also be a priority for the new defensive coordinator. Hamilton would be a possibility along with Gotsis and Lynch. I'm not sure that Smoot or Costin would fit this scheme and Bryan seems to not fit any schemes.
The current roster is obviously very bad and improvements need to be found at most positions. It will take more than one off-season to accomplish this. However, if they can pick the right quarterback with the likely number 2 pick the future will be looking much brighter. The Jaguars should be able to also get an offensive tackle and tight end in this draft with the remaining focus on building the 3-4 defense.
I believe the offensive line is the most important position group in football. I want that more than anything else. This year is an exceptional year for QB, so I don't want them passing on Lawrence or Fields, but please, beef up that line. If were GM, I would gut the roster so we suck, spend my first two drafts building up offensive and defensive line, then get my starting QB and position groups. Year 4 start expecting results. Year 5, fire me if we're not looking like a playoff team.
Please listen to homebiscuit .... drafting a quarterback #1 would be a big mistake.
He would dazzle for a few games and then get torn apart.
Other teams salivate at welcoming these high drafted QB's to the NFL....and it would only be a matter of time until
our shiny, new QB would be broken.
GM15 is a good QB and he needs "Big Uglies" up front as well as better tight end.
Please put better pieces around him and we'll only get better.

You may be correct, but it is a foregone conclusion that a new G.M. will want to draft "his" quarterback. The Jaguars still have enough cap money and draft picks to sufficiently improve the offensive line.
1)Scouting Dept: Fire all of them, they terrible.
2) Assistant Coaches: Fire all of them, they can't teach and develop
3) GM fire himself in a couple of season cus he gonna have a losing record too.

Dude, Minshew is NOT the answer. He lacks arm strength, he holds the ball entirely too long and he gets "gun shy." He could have an all-pro line in front of him and it wouldn't make a difference. He is what he is. He's a decent backup and may have a long NFL as such, but he's not a franchise QB. We have to take a QB in the first round, whether it is with our first pick or our second. We can address the OT position as well and give him some security. Whether it is taking Sewell at #2 overall or taking Eichenberg with the pick we acquired from the Rams. That's what I would like to see. Right now, after watching Zach Wilson play, I'm all in on him or Trevor Lawrence with the #2 pick. If we could then draft OT Liam Eichenberg of Notre Dame with the Rams' pick, that would be a perfect first round IMO. I'd then look to address the defensive needs the rest of the way as well as taking a TE like Hunter Long of Boston College or Charlie Kolar of Iowa State. I'm especially high on Kolar.
Some of you are [BLEEP] delusional. We cannot go another year without a QB. The Minshew experiment is over.
Our offensive line is better than most of you think. Line play around the league is much poorer than it once was. Cincy's line was an absolute debacle. I think if we have better QB play, our line will appear much better.
We need safeties desperately, and we need defensive linemen.
1. Offensive Line - our line is average against bad teams. Even then they seemingly can get to the QB in critical times. Yes we need a QB, but he will not do us any good running for his life and injury is a real possibility. I would hate to finally get a new bright and shiny franchise toy only to have him broken.
2. Defensive Line - This game is a physical game and we are not physical in the trenches where it is won. Beef up the D line and corners, linebackers and safeties will all magically become better. How much? no way to know, but the linebacker will not have O linemen on them and the pass defense will not have to cover for an eternity.
3. QB - Yes we need one, in fact we need 2 if we don't improve the O line. I am not that sold on QB's that play for teams who have 5 times the talent of most every team they play. They have very talented receivers going against lesser corners most of the time and have pretty good offensive lines protecting them.

The problem is that only one of those he really controls, the variables in getting the QB make it more difficult of course. IMO, no one picking QB in the coming draft really wants anyone but Lawrence, it they take any other QB then they are settling for what they can get. If the Jags somehow win another game and end up picking after both Lawrence and Fields are gone then they they are settling for at best the 3rd best QB in the draft and we have to ask if that's the right thing to do. So much a #becausejaguars thing to be god awful and yet not be bad enough.
All teams dont have players rated the same. A team could get the 3rd QB off the board but the might of had them rated the 2nd highest QB on their board

That's not my job and that wasn't the premise of this thread.
I will take that question. If we cant get the clemson qb, i heard trask is rising fast. Maybe similar to burrow last year
But i know our luck with gators
Gotta get the right QB I like minshew as much as anyone but he’s not your franchise QB. For years we’ve built this team around any QB with a strong supporting cast, it never works

There's Lawrence. Then behind him is Fields. Then way behind him is any other QB in this draft, and personally I don't think Fields is all that good.
Definitely land Lawrence or Fields.. I would prefer Lawrence but I think Fields will be good too.

You need to watch Zach Wilson of BYU. I just started watching him and he's my new favorite QB in the class. I like him slightly more than Lawrence. The kid checks all the boxes for arm strength, accuracy, quick release, mobility and poise under pressure. I watched him not expecting much and I was blown away how good this kid is. He's miles better than Fields.

Thats how you have them ranked, it doesn't meant all the other teams have them ranked that way

Wilson also makes a lot of odd arm angle throws that look like a shortstop. I love it.
Need him to play against a good defense in a bowl game though.

I think if he were going to do it, it would have happened after his freshman year.
