Why can't the team just be good ever so we don't have this conflict every season?
This is so fregin' accurate to how die hards (like us) are being pulled into this tank nonsense because we know it's best case scenario to turn the corner. It's painful to root against your own team - and then they actually play well. the range of emotions during this last 5 week stretch is absolutely gut-wrenching/astronomical.
Yeah, agreed

What’s painful is years and years of not having a QB. I’ve been rooting for the Jags to lose since the loss to Miami I believe.
It’s the perfect year to tank, with COVID and Trevor.

There's a difference between wanting to tank an entire season and just shutting off the lights for the last couple of games for a rare opportunity at a brighter future (takes long pull from whiskey bottle to drown the naked shame).

It's far from ideal... none of us want to be there either. It's just a necessary step to capitalize on something special next year (cap room, GM and coaching staff replacements, etc.).

I was iffy on tanking, especially with how bad the Jets were, but now that the Jets lost and the Jags are staring down the number 1 overall pick, I'm having flashbacks to beating the Colts to allow them to draft Luck first overall, and I just can't fight it anymore...
Go Bears!

Crowd cheering for that TD lol
