Already talk of a third stimulus from Biden today and so it goes on.....

Ehh, it's more of a "If you vote for the two socialist democrats today in Georgia, we will approve a new $2,000 stimulus"

Because you know, we just print money and 65" TV's just aren't cutting it anymore.
Real stimulus would be cutting taxes.  I caught a small blurb that I heard today (didn't hear the whole discussion) regarding capital gains.  It seems that some democrats want to tax capital gains, even if the owner of a stock doesn't sell it.  That's a real quick way to kill investment and the economy.  However, there is a very loud segment of the democrat party that is all about "spreading the wealth" and "fairness" and this would be the way that they would "pay for it".

Regarding the "stimulus" payments being handed out, I am very much against it.  As I said before, real stimulus would be lowering taxes and allow people, investors and business to keep more that they earned.

And where do you make that money up?

This is not an endorsement of income tax on my part, but if you're going to cut taxes again and this country's already stuck in deficit purgatory, rapidly approaching burning in inflationary hell, where does that get made up? The country still has to run.

People keeping more of THEIR money means they spend more of their money. A thriving economy is where "you make up that money".

You "make that money up" just like any responsible household, business, etc.  If the income is lower then you must lower expenses.

I know that it's a "pipe dream", but the federal government wastes more money on things that it has no business funding.  Cut out the pork and the "pet projects" of so many politicians.  Get rid of useless government institutions (Department of Education would be a good start).
I don't have time to read the thread, but as usual the middle class will foot these cost in the long run. A single dollar tax (per year) will be more lucrative than a ten million dollar tax (per year) to the top 2%.  The lower class can't be taxed, they already are squeaking by in most cases. We boys are going to pay for this ... Not just our share, but everybody's share.
I’m not exactly in favor of the stimulus.  If was worked to where the right people got it, eh, ok.  But on the other hand, they wanna keep sending me money, I’ll take it.  If I needed it, great.  I personally don’t need it and know I am paying it in my taxes, but I also pay a poop ton in taxes each year.  So the earlier one we received plus the one that hit the other day will be applied to said poop ton. Taking those funds into account, Hopefully I get away with paying less than 5000 this year. That being said, I may need a better CPA.  Seriously.  The highest I had to pay was 16.5k.  That was a shock and a half.  Changed a few things. But the least I had to pay in the last few was 6700.  I feel my CPA isn’t quit up to par. Anyone have suggestions, let me know.

If they send it, keep it. Good for you. Government giving you free money you didnt ask for is not the time nor place to declare your moral superiority and pound your chest. Take it, invest it, enjoy it, buy something frivolous with it, donate it. Its YOURS.

Trust me, I’ll take it!!!   But the reality is it’ll be sent right back to them. Which in turn helps me. So, whatever. Maybe they’ll give enough to where I can essentially have a “tax free” income.  I’d be ok with that.  Just don’t know if they should be throwing money at everyone like we’re strippers.

He was saying that a couple of weeks ago. He plans to start pushing for it as soon as he gets into the WH.

Freaking unbelievable. We're so screwed as a country.

Cease base line budgeting and stop borrowing money from China and sending it to other countries?

Two problems with "free money";

1)  What tax burden are we ultimately just imposing on ourselves and/or deferring to our children?

2)  The National Debt is currently at $27,678,337,188,396 and increasing about 7 grand per second.  How high can it go without collapse?  What's the magic number, beyond which the house of cards comes tumbling down?

There is no quantitative easing right now, and the market is letting the feds borrow money with interest rates lower than inflation, so it's partially free money.
Other countries are also increasing their debt, also due to covid, so debt is unlikely to disrupt the balance of trade at this time.
If borrowing increases to the point where the market demands higher interest rates, quantitative easing could begin again.  People say that's a recipe for inflation but it's only a partial recipe.  An excess of money doesn't become inflation unless there is also a shortage of goods.  There has been slack in most production facilities since 2007; shortages also seem unlikely.
Except for food crops.  If there's ever like the corn version of Covid, or the soybean version of spanish flu, or climate change creating drought beyond what even the doomsayers predict, that's when all of the above becomes null and void. We won't have food shortages unless stuff like that that happens.

Probably talking about a congregation of violent right-wing extremists that would like to overthrow democracy.
