This saddened me.. Tommy was an awesome, very animated manager.

I have a signed Lasorda baseball in a case from the 80's that I got from a spring training game.. He lived a hell of a life..

RIP, Godfather..

That alone makes him a legend. Everything else was icing on the cake. RIP
What a great character. What an enjoyable person. It was great to have him in the world.

Not saying that wasn't funny...but that was all staged.

Even though he was the Dodgers manager he was from the Philadelphia suburbs (Norristown to be exact).  This clip (I was at the game) was from when I was growing up in Philly and a huge fan.  And even though I was a Phillies fan through and through, Lasorda was an awesome dude.

I grew up a Yankees fan and loved the World series matchups with the Dodgers.  77 & 78 were great playoff years.  Billy Martin was just as animated as Lasorda, but never had Tommy's class.
