A common misconception.

The NFL player isn't much different than the CFL player. They mature at the same rate as other males. Not much difference in a 20 year old and a 27 year old. And that's being generous, playing in the NFL enables you to be 24 until you're around 35. I promise.

All that talk of, "Well you're dealing with a GROWN *** MAN" in the NFL is just talk perpetrated by the players.

So you're telling me there's no difference with a young man and a young man with a boatload of money?  I believe that you are mistaken.

NH3...

Thanks Marty to for the article.

Seems like he's very articulate and like someone on another thread said ....
our team is already the youngest and will get younger with having so many draft picks.
So the team should respond to this culture change.

I'm looking forward this next chapter of "The Jaguars".

The only difference is the money, the mismanaged money. Same mentality tho.

If you don't think that changes some people's (i.e. players) attitude, you are truly clueless.
Just so you know CFL is a league up here in Canada. They are also paid professionals. But I know what you meant. But some may of been Confused.

Details, details, details, this is encouraging. As an example, read almost anything regarding Coach Belichick and it points to how he coaches and teaches taking care of the little details.

It’s why he hasn’t just reached through his Rolodex to line up a coaching staff, but also support staff in areas like strength and conditioning and player development, to build a program that’s holistic, and goes far beyond running cover-3 vs. man. It’s also almost certainly why his asks for facilities upgrades were vital—he knows how much he’ll be asking players to invest and wants to make sure he can show the same investment in them.

And frankly, it’s exactly what the Jaguars need. Jacksonville isn’t an offensive guru away from winning. The organization needs a top-to-bottom housecleaning, the way Buffalo did when Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane arrived in 2017. That means eradicating what one long-time team employee called a “9-to-5 culture” in the building and, really, that can be done only by taking the thing down to the studs, like McDermott and Beane did.

That requires more than a coach; it requires a change agent. That’s exactly what Meyer has been wherever he’s gone, even shaking up the identity of bluebloods like Florida and Ohio State, where some argued tweaks over total turnover would’ve been sufficient. Meyer took both programs to another level as a resu

Good article. If Urban can execute this it will be fun watching the games. Your talking lots of time and pushback to change a culture though. Its going to be an interesting ride. I had to laugh when i saw this quote, "Meyer said. “And then I’ve talked to other ones. I talked to one, and they never have team meetings. I go, What’s the culture of the program? He says, I’ve got no idea. We just show up and we go to our position meetings. It’s incredible.” It had to be a Dallas Cowboys player, I'm just saying haha.

My favorite line, "that can be done only by taking the thing down to the studs".
