Trevor Lawrence begins training for NFL with former Jags QB Jordan Palmer. He was always going to find an off-season coach but now that it’s tangible you feel like it’s a step closer. I was kind of hoping he’d work with Tom House out there but love Jordan Palmer’s coaching. The real question is: at what point does Darrell Bevell throw the playbook at him for him to study (half sarcasm)

In all seriousness, they should be allowed to just sign him like the old days so we can get a move on.
We have the first pick we could just announce it now or right after the season ends like Miami did a decade ago. Would really help out espn with their commercial coverage and probably increase draft viewing (/s).
Let the Pre-Training camp begin...

NH3...

I always wonder why this doesn’t happen more often. Not every year is clear but there are always your Joe Burrow or Myles Garrett drafts. I wonder if it’s just a matter of being safe (arrests, late injuries) or if the NFL discourages it. Could be a number on reason
GM has to appear to have some control over the situation. GM has to pretend to be fielding offers for the pick. GM has to pretend he isn't giddy like a 6th grader landing his first real kiss at the dance. GM needs to make sure Lawrence isn't dropping lotion down a well via a bucket to an unsuspecting victim.
NFL PR machine probably strongly “discourages” it for the sake of TV ratings on draft weekend.
As a reminder, our previous 1st round, high draft pick quarterback also trained with Jordan Palmer prior to his draft.

So are we in for more wounded ducks being flung around?

The fact he helped Bortles become a high first round pick should say something about his coaching ability.

NCAA rules for players in school, NFL doesn't want people to know before the draft even though everyone knows, and something could happen before the draft to hurt the players' value. The contract wouldn't be valid until the draft so if doesn't bring any value to announcing it early. You can't start coaching the player now anyways.

Not sure if you can freely give the playbook out, I would think you could give it to anyone you wanted but probably a grey area.

Trevor Lawrence had Covid. Had pass. Nobody knows what the long term effects are. I mean, what if his right arm falls off of something. What if he contracted it because he failed to wear a mask while within 6 feet of other human beings? Do you really want someone who's negligent about the health of himself and others around him? Think this selection needs some more in depth background investigation.

Yes, I'm kind of bored.....
