Meanwhile, China is laughing at us as their military slowly passes ours.

Trumps market......isn't that how you people work?

Not everyone is fit to serve.

Well the truth hurts.  "Trans people" are less valuable and less worthy.  Mental illness is usually a dis-qualifier.  Contrary to what democrats like you think, military service isn't a "right".
Tucker had great commentary on this. So much so that the Pentagon attacked his show and FNC. Can you believe that?

Are gay people allowed to serve?

Do gay people physically transform the essence of their physiology with a process so radical that it requires constant treatment to maintain the altered state?

Being gay was once considered a mental illness.

I guess we ban diabetics who require insulin to maintain their "altered state" and even those with allergies who need a Zyrtec.

All this thread does is highlight prejudices.

You're picking and choosing your logic, which undermines your argument. The treatment for diabetes does not alter a person's physiology. It does quite the opposite, as a matter of fact.

But since you're choosing diabetes as your fighting hill, diabetics are not allowed to join the military. Some are allowed to stay in if diagnosed while serving, but that is dependent on the severity of the disease and its treatability under adverse conditions.

Don't worry, I'm sure tax payers will pay for your surgery..

Yes, diabetics are precluded from service in almost all cases. Thanks for proving the point.
Did everyone just skip the part that clearly stated "medically necessary" gender affirmation care and procedures would be covered?

This order doesn't simply mean taxpayers are going to be footing the bill for any service member that has decided to switch teams. That is not what's happening here.

The entire process is elective. How does that precipitate a medically necessary procedure?

"Medically necessary" in the military means something very different from the civilian world. Unless it's a forced change. A heart valve replacement is medically necessary, genital mutilation and forcing hormones your body is not biologically made for is not.
Doctor:  I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you, Sir.

TrannyAnnie:  It's Ma'am, you transphobe!  What is it?

Doctor: You have testicular cancer.

Is it not clear enough for you?

It's two rather simple words forming a common phrase.

Which is why taxpayers won't be paying for these procedures on any remotely significant level.

We shouldn't be paying for it at all. Military or civilian, but especially military.

Do you think the radicals on the left think surgery is necessary or not? We're talking about mental health, here. This simply boils down to who defines what is necessary. You're awful confident people think like you do with regards to this issue.
The military today (I can only speak of what I see on the Navy base) is in big trouble should they ever have to do their job.  Actual training for their job is "secondary" to the "social experiment" that it has become.  A command in our building took over a space that used to be used for actual training to turn it into a "lactation lounge".  When we told a senior member of one of the tenant commands in our building that we needed a watch starting at 0600 and running to 1200 we were informed by him (an E-9) that their "work day doesn't start until 0800".  He also stated that he doesn't want to put someone on a watch for 4 hours because it's "too much" and that he would give us two people for a 2 hour watch each.  Seriously.

The social area on the base (no clubs of any kind anymore) celebrates "gay pride" and has "gay functions".  The standards for grooming have also been "relaxed" so that females can wear their hair in ways that are not very appropriate when it comes to "military bearing".

PT (physical training) is more important now rather than proficiency in their actual job.

The problem is the military is allowing troops to be "individuals" rather than part of a unit.  One of the biggest concepts that used to be taught in basic training was that you are not an "individual" you are part of a team.  Nobody is different than the person standing next to them.  That's all gone.

Now it seems that people with mental disorders are not only allowed to be a part of the military, but the military (we tax payers) will have to pay for their "treatment" of their mental disorder.

If we ever have to go to war we are screwed.
