Jaguars coach Urban Meyer has made some statements that many of us have found problematic.  Specifically, he has stated the offensive line is not a "blow it up" situation, and yesterday said he wanted Cam Robinson on the team for a while when asked about why he franchised him and whether they will try to sign him to an extension.

Assuming this reflects the team's actual feelings about the OL and accepting this as reality, and assuming Trent Williams is NOT signed as a free agent, what would be your ideal mock draft removing T from consideration?

To me, the top 4 rounds might look something like this

1.  Trevor Lawrence
25.  Zaven Collins
33.  Greg Newsome
45 Pat Friermuth
66.  Alim McNeil
106.  Dyami Brown
130.  Monty Rice

I'd love this draft
I just can't. Unless we upgrade at least one of the OT positions, we have failed to do anything to build around Lawrence. He will be running for his life.
Collins is great, but i think JOK should be the pick if we're going LB at 25.
I think there is a very slim chance Collins is there when we pick at 25. I can see Washington taking him
If they don't do anything in the offseason to fix this line, the Jags will win 3 or 4 games at most.

Strongly disagree.

Telvin Smith was a good player for us, but at his weight, he would be a horrible fit in a 3-4.

JOK is 215 lbs...just like Telvin Smith.

Miami is a candidate too, considering they just cut Kyle Van Noy.

Whichever team drafts him will get a helluva player.

Aside from having no T, I'd really like it too.

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but right now I'm getting a feeling we'll trade up in the first.

No complaints about the picks you make, but philosophically I'll still argue with the hypothetical FO in this situation. 4th round may have a wave of depth at OT, that while not having a floor of being a starter, you'll stilll find some quality depth that will also keep the position stocked for the coming years. OL especially is such a volatile position, guys end up hurt so often, I don't take the position off my board even if we sign Cam to a long extension.

Absolutely.

I have pretty much concluded this will not be a deep team at all this year.  I hope I am wrong, but I think the struggle will be to get quality starters in this off season.
UM didnt say  in what capacity he would want Cam to be on the team...He could be a viable depth/rotational player, but not a starter...He said something the other day, or maybe it was the GM who said you can never have too much depth.

So is Dareus Leonard and he might be the best defender in the league. But really JOK is a swiss army knife that you will line up at SS, LB, pass rusher, and slot corner. Just put him on the field and profit and you don't have to take away from the LB corps that we have already invested in heavily at every spot.

Darius Leonard is one of the best defenders in the league, and he is undersized

However:

1.  He's 230 lbs, not 215.

2.  He's playing in a 4-3 scheme, where he is protected by two DTs.

3.  The Cardinals tried that with Isaiah Simmons, and it didn't work.
Way too early to say that Simmons hasn't worked out. The star/joker/whatever you want to call it 3 safety defense is becoming extremely popular and is probably the future standard defense. Having a stud swiss army knife to slot into that spot would put us ahead of the curve and let us keep all 4 of our other prized LBs on the field.

Agreed 100%.  JOK is to undersized  especially for a 3-4.  Do you want Telvin Smith or Brian Urlacher?

False premise, although kinda funny considering Urlacher was a safety in college.

I'm talking about as a pro prospect, their size,  speed and the things they do on the field.  Urlacher played LB in the NFL which is where Collins will play
