Full Version: Any positives for free agency?

Spending big in free agency is often detrimental to a team in the long run, so I'm glad we didn't break the bank.  We got mature players that will help make the team competitive next year, but it's not like the Jags are going to be bound for the Super Bowl.  Overall - this is the right way to approach it.

Chark is pretty much the only guy we have to sign in the next 3 years, and any rookies this regime drafts won't have to be re-signed for 4-5 years. There is no amount of spending we could have done this free agency that would have an affect on us keeping our own players.

Now, if this regime actually does draft well then this will be a salient point in half a decade.

I agree. Plus there is still a possibility of some other players hitting the market and the draft to address some holes. It won't happen overnight.

We get him for 3 more full seasons after we use the 5th year option.
