Since it seems like almost everyone is having absurd pro days, I thought it might be good to discuss some of the people that we really liked that have had disappointing pro days. Feel free to discuss anyone I mentioned, or anyone else that you thought was disappointing.
So far I've noticed these guys, the first two being guys I really liked originally:
Paris Ford
Jalen Mayfield
Brevin Jordan
Gregory Rousseau
Jaylen Twyman
Pro days can only confirm what I saw on tape. If a player has a bad pro day, but I love what I saw from them on tape during the season, it doesn't change my opinion at all.

Ford is the one that sticks out to me as being disastrous.
That was one of the slowest 40s I've ever seen from a safety.
Mayfield running the 5.3 wasn't good, but it shouldn't be a killer for a RT.
A 4.78 for Brevin Jordan is disappointing. That is much slower than the estimated time for Friermuth of 4.65 that Lindy's has, though admittedly until Friermuth runs a 40 and beats that time, you don't know for sure.
Rousseau's 4.68 isn't bad for a DE.

I've always heard it's the exceptional pro day that comes after average at best production that scares scouts and makes them go back and re-watch the tape.

We care about the SS and 3 cone for tackles, and the 3 cone, high jump, and broad jump for edge/DL. They were really bad in those. Pretty much confirms that Mayfield is a guard and that Rousseau is probably just a big space eater.
Zaven Collins, dude looks super weak hitting pad and hit very low reps on bench press. Elijah Moore is much stronger at nearly 100 lbs lighter. He also looked super stiff in the 3 cone, slow, etc. etc. Looks like an UDFA prospect imo
Go watch it, don't let some 20 yr old beat writer make that decision for you lmao

Lol
He was linearly explosive but his change of direction drills were pretty poor I agree. I saw some people say he should just go pure EDGE and try to be Bud Dupree.

I don't care at all what his pro day numbers were. I watched him play last season against SMU and UCF. He stood out. He was all over the field making plays against the run and the pass. This kid is special. He's my #7 overall player.
So you watched him face like 4 NFL caliber athletes. If you're putting a LB in the middle of your 3-4 he better damn well be able to change directions adeptly.
Yeah, I don't think either of those teams gets anybody drafted on the offensive side of the ball unless I'm missing something. He just didn't look like a pro linebacker to me, that size was not athletic imo( didn't convert speed to power)( No lateral quicks). Time shall tell but he looks like another underachiever that will be drafted way too high.
