I was listen to Skip and Shannon talk about Lawrence today and they were talking about he isn’t that competitive. Almost like Josh Rosen was talked about when Arizona drafted him.
Lawrence said it didn’t bother him that Ohio State beat them because he did all he could do. Skip then followed that up with his wife is more competitive than he is.
I chalk it up to nothing because what you do on the football field is all that matters to me, but would you call this a red flag ?
TL could of sat out all year and still been the number 1 pick this year but he still played unlike a number of the other top prospects. That's how competitive he is and how much he loves football

The statement after the Ohio State game doesn't particularly bother me. I think he's saying as long as you give it all you got you can be at peace with the outcome. Sometimes the other team is just better. It's when you feel like you didn't leave it all on the field that it should bother you and I didn't hear him deny that.
I was watching Undisputed the other day and Skip/Shannon's comments about Trevor made me laugh. Especially Shannon's comments.
I haven't cared for the comments Trevor/his circle have made recently about football. Largely because he's making these types of comments before he has even been drafted. The "he doesn't need football, could walk away from football tomorrow" comments don't sound good to me. He hasn't even played a snap yet and is acting like he doesn't have to be bothered by football to be happy. That may be true, but still... lol. That isn't the stuff that should be said before he's even drafted. Maybe after his career is over. I think that Trevor is used to things always going his way and that is largely where that attitude is coming from.
It makes me wonder though what might happen if he has some adversity. I think he will try and play well, but at the same time I wonder how he might act if he goes through some rough ordeals like Andrew Luck did.
Skip and Shannon...stopped there

No. Not even a little bit. As long as he goes out there and gives 100%, that's all I ask of him. This is just the media trying to make something out of nothing.
As for Rosen, it was an entirely different issue. He was spoiled, entitled and wasn't very well liked by his teammates at UCLA. From everything I have read, Lawrence was both liked and respected by his teammates as a leader.
They are talking heads that get paid to talk. Jaguars fans should be used to The World vs The Jaguars, but I got good news for you, we'll soon have Trevor Lawrence on our side. Most of the Jag haters pick on the Jags because it's low hanging fruit. Yes, the Jags have earned it with poor performance on and off the field, but it's gotten to the point where even now that things are looking up the haters are so set in their ways that they continue to attack.
Lawrence almost killed a guy during pickup basketball AND was the outspoken voice to try and get college football to play..... dude is a competitor.
He just seems wise beyond his years.

What’s the story behind the pickup basketball? Never heard that one

He was playing pickup basketball and some dude set a screen about 80 feet from the hoop and Lawrence took offense to it. Shoved the guy down like a rag doll.

I would have been more worried if he would have let that dude get away with it.
I just want to say it again, I’m not worried at all about Lawrence’s desire to play football. Once he becomes a Jaguar, our entire team automatically has a chance to win every Sunday. The talking heads are just trying to find negative material.
Watching Moron and Mumbles = Red Flag

I absolutely call this a red flag. First, one should never pay any attention to blowhards like Skip, Shannon and their lot. Secondly, one should never publicly admit to paying any attention to those windbags.
The criticism over Rosen wasn't that we wasn't competitive - it was that he projected entitlement and rubbed his teammates the wrong way. If ANYONE gets that vibe from TLaw, they have been huffing the ether a little too much.

I mean, would it have been better if he had committed seppuku right there on the field?
DATS MAH QB! Oh, wait...

You beat me to it.
Yes, this is absolutely a red flag, and yes, I think it should prevent us from spending a first round draft pick (or any round after that) on Skip and Shannon should the possibility arise.
Unfortunately, they accomplished their job; to get people talking about their sorry [BLEEP] program.

Good point.
