He might be a stud, and even if he does become one it's still not that great of a thing for the team. In that case he's going to demand a ~$15M contract at the same time Trevor is demanding damn near a $50M a year contract. That's not a recipe for long term winning, so we likely got him for one rookie contract and then we'll have to move on.

You could say that about any top performing rookie. You don't take guys with the hope that they will be average, lol.

Any other position and it would be worth the big 2nd contract. I'm going to root for him to excel, but the best case scenario is capped compared to just about anyone else we could have taken.

I can't remember the last 4th rounder we had that became any good.

I can tell you one I hated - 2005, we took Alvin Pearman 3 spots ahead of Darren Sproles. Sproles was absolutely my crush that year, and I could have punched a hole in a brick wall when they passed on him. Good thing he turned out to be a bust, right?

Etienne has nothing to do with need.
Meyer eschewed need and value to select a prospect he’d fallen in love with and tried to label it BAP.

I want to remember these crybabies if ETN turns out to be a stud.  People have bad memories.  I remember people crying about drafting MJD because we had Fred Taylor.

Colvin had good value for a while.

Cecil Shorts too.
Mike Thomas had 2 good seasons.
Podlesh the punter was a 4th.
Wilford was a 4th.
Garrard, Seth Payne, Reggie Barlow, and of course QB Rob Johnson who ended up netting us the Fred Taylor pick in trade.
