Any positive testing player will be quarantined until testing negative. Why would they put a positive case among other players???

Teams don't forfeit if a vaccinated player gets covid. Which I guarantee will happen.

It has to be an outbreak among unvaccinated players that ultimately causes a game to be impossible to reschedule.

One player with or without a vaccination doesn't make a team forfeit and it's VERY possible they'd simply reschedule the postponed game anyway.
Let's not get overly dramatic here.

Quote: if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week schedule due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will forfeit and be credited with a loss, per sources informed of the situation

This is exactly why vaccination status is a factor in deciding cuts.  If you have 2 similar players and 1 is vaccinated and the other isn't, there's less of a likelihood of forfeiting games/paychecks if you keep the vaccinated player.

Allegedly.

Irrefutably.

You can't be forced to reschedule a game due to outbreak of unvaxed players if all of your players are vaxed.

What if you don't have enough players due to covid if they are all vaxxed?

What if martians arrive at half time of the super bowl?

Let it go. The NFL covid policy is all over the internet. Go read it.
Here's a large part of it:

Just imagine the blowback on those unvaxxed guys if they cost TWO teams worth of players their game checks. Me'thinks the players will be lobbying the Coach to cut the unvaxxed guys to save their own checks long before this becomes an issue.

How much is an vaxxed guy infecting the whole team gonna cost them?

Invariably less since the return protocols are correspondingly less.

Vaxed players can return to action much quicker,  reducing the need to postpone games,  as well as making rescheduling games easier.

They've flat out said there won't be negative implications for the teams should that happen. It's like you aren't even trying here.
Unrelated:

Just got a news flash that Packers vs Saints was moved to TIAA Bank field because of the hurricane..
This is a nothing burger. If this was a superstar player getting cut that's one thing but most of these are fringe players trying to catch on with the team. Most times it unfair to some especially if they outplayed someone and you still get cut, so adding the weight of games and checks lost it caused by someone unvaccinated then it is a given.

It seems ridiculous to me that you can't take vaccine status into account, when vaccine status has a league-mandated impact on players; if it changes their availability in the case of exposure, then it's a big thing. The best sort of ability, and all that...

Yes.  When the league rule is that if an outbreak, caused by an UNvaccinated player or players, causes a game to be cancelled, the team that had the outbreak will forfeit the game, then vaccination status HAS to be a factor when it's a close call, which of two players to keep on the team.   The unvaccinated player could actually cause a forfeit.   In addition to that, if a player tests positive, and he is unvaccinated, then, under the rules, he has to stay out longer than a vaccinated player who tests positive.

So NFL rules set this situation up.  It is inevitable, and yet, coaches and GMs aren't allowed to admit it.

What Meyer ought to say to the NFLPA is, "Your problem is with the NFL.  Not with me.  The NFL set up this situation.  I'm just telling the truth."

I think the NFL is the real target, Meyer is just an avenue to get there.

Some people have personal health risks or beliefs that should certainly be respected and protected when considering vaccination. I read a study that states most of the vaccine hesitant are of higher education (BS, MDA, PhD)... So if that is your stance, more power to you, you are among America's brightest.

The study is wrong/misleading. There is a strong correlation between education and vaccination status, but it goes the other way.

Oh, mIsInFoRmAtIoN, LOL. I'll trust my ability to read the MIT study vs your word. It's a simple risk-benefit analysis, and regardless of what your television told you, there are risks associated with the jab. We all have different immune systems, a one size fits all plan is not how to approach medicine, especially in the midst of a pandemic. I think anyone who wants to mandate a medical procedure on everyone is ridiculous, and quite frankly insane. I thought Israel would have finally been the eye opener, I guess not.

Even if I disagree with using this jab as an evaluation tool, I think this will likely end with no punishments or findings. It would be really hard to prove any wrong-doing on the part of the Jaguars. Meyer needs to learn some coach speak ASAP. It'd be boring to get back to the cliche media responses, but I'd prefer that over him saying too much and possibly hurting the team.
Ive been critical of some of Meyers moves but he just said what everyone else is doing. It wasn't the sole reason but it was a factor and yeah he probably shouldn't have said it out loud but its not that big of a thing. Plus we still have players who appear not to have had the vaccine yet. I thought this was interesting about Allen

Meyer said at the beginning of training camp the team tried to educate players on the vaccine and encouraged them to get vaccinated but that each player was allowed to decide for himself. But Meyer also admitted the protocols for an unvaccinated player who tests positive or is ruled a high-risk close contact could significantly impact the team's chances to win.

He cited defensive end Josh Allen's situation as an example.
Allen, the team's best pass-rusher, was placed on the reserve-COVID-19 list on Aug. 23 and wasn't removed until Tuesday. Allen, who has declined to reveal his vaccination status but has worn a mask to interviews, missed the Jaguars' final two preseason games.

"Well, Josh Allen's never had it [COVID-19]," Meyer said. "He's not played in two weeks. So, he's never had COVID. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that, but he's never had COVID. So that's pretty punitive."
