no?
I am pretty firm in my belief that the positional values we board members have are vastly different from those of our team's management. I'll leave that to the reader whether that's a positive or a negative. Sometimes, it's a little of each.
I'd like to see a few young guys brought in to kick the tires and see what they can do, sure, but I'm not sweating the team passing on older guys that faded their way off a roster.

We just refuse to address the TE situation. Hopefully they are working out a contract with Hollister. Really wish we could pry njoku away from Cleveland. He's just wasting away there.
It's not we aren't addressing the TE situation, it's theyre not addressing it in the way the
vox populi want them to.
If the offense has no use for a catch-first TE, why would we want to bring them in to languish, other than to keep them off an opponent's roster?
Look at who of our own we cut and who we kept. If we have a TE that pushes 500 yards receiving on the season, I'll be shocked.

About the bolded part, "
I'd like to see a few young guys brought in to kick the tires and see what they can do..." I see that sentiment a lot, but the problem with doing that is that we would have to cut someone on our 53 man roster to do that. And that person would either become a free agent, or be exposed to a waiver claim. Now, I know people would respond to what I just said with "Well, who cares if we lose [insert name of player they hate]?" But if the Jags kept a guy on the 53 man roster, it seems they would value that guy enough that they wouldn't discard him to kick the tires on some guy they don't know, and who hasn't been in camp.

It surprised me at first. But I've thought about it, and I think probably the Jags don't see anyone out there who is good enough for them to claim and put on the 53 man roster, when they don't really know the guy, haven't worked with him, he hasn't been in camp, and therefore he doesn't know the offense or defense. We have plenty of mediocre players who have been in camp, know the offense or defense, and who are known to the coaching staff. Why replace them with other mediocre players who have none of the aforementioned qualities?
That's my best guess.

Tyrann Mathieu being cut by the Cards a few year ago may be as close as it gets to being a perfect prospect.
Fournette also turned out to be a key player in the Bucs super bowl run.

Pretty sure Tyrann didn't get cut to on field ability.

I love this news so much. Dude can actually get vertical, loved what I saw in the highlights. Hope he turns into a regular deep threat for us!

That's exactly what I'm saying. He was a near perfect prospect that was cut (which is what you stated cannot be found on the waiver wire).

Tyron Johnson should be for us what the Phillip Dorsett signing was supposed to be; only Johnson is younger, slightly faster, less injury prone (*knock on wood* don't want to jinx that)
as a WR4, coming in to give one of our top trio a breather, take the top off the defense, or even just have the threat of him outside the numbers back the safeties off should give us more room to run the ball underneath and set up play action.
Considering we only had to cut Daniel Ekuale who was alright as a rookie DT but clearly one of the bottom options of the 14 DL we kept, i'm very ok with this turn of events.
I like this guys potential. We need this guy to hopefully be good. Speed and hands. He needs to be starting now
This is an opportunity for him to step up with DJ’s injury.
I remember Alvis Whitted has 1 thing you can’t teach...speed.
He's just another cast off.
My hopes
They are not high
Hopefully he finds a way to contribute and the ghost of Al Davis visits the bank with abundant good omens.
Well he definately has that opportunity to contribute now that Chark is out for the season.
Time Will Tell.
NH3...
Undrafted in 2019, just 25 years old with 4.3 speed, and the Jags are the 6th NFL team to give him a shot. With his lack of playing time here, a team desperate to stretch the field, it appears the Chargers let him go for a reason, also. I bought into the hype when the Jags picked him up. What has happened to this guy? What is his issue keeping him from the field?
