That's the biggest mystery about the whole game as far as I'm concerned.  How can we look so totally unprepared when we have so many experienced NFL coaches on our coaching staff?

I hope this was just one of those games- a fluke- where we went out there an laid an egg for no known reason.  We'll find out on Sunday, I guess.

I think it was a fluke game. I feel more comfortable about this game than I did about week 1.

You shouldn't.

Meyer is going to get severely outclassed yet again. This is what happens when you hire a recruiter rather than an actual coach... like Sean Payton. He's an X's and O's guy. That's what we need. But no - we want cheerleaders.

Trevor is going to get destroyed. Meyer is going to run his OSU guy instead of the FAR superior James Robinson... just an awful, awful coach.

A team with a bunch of proven vets at almost every position at home vs a young team with with upside, a new coach to the NFL, rookie QBs first game on the road I'm their first game, its not really a surprise.  I think that Texans team will surprise a number of teams this year,
So the Jags don't have proven vets? The entire Oline, Marvin Jones, Chark, Dline, Linebackers, Griffin, Jenkins, Hyde, Manhertz, Oshag, JRob.... The Jags were outcoached. Period.

It goes way beyond "outcoached."  They appeared to be completely unprepared mentally.  It was like they were all drunk or on acid or something.  There's no way to explain a veteran offensive lineman lining up in the backfield, for example.  Or 6 dropped passes.  It's mind boggling.  Do we really need to teach veteran offensive tackles how to line up?  Or receivers how to catch passes?  That performance looked like an expansion team in their first preseason scrimmage.  Actually, no it was worse than that.  It was the most unprofessional debacle I've ever seen.

If I was the head coach, the first thing I would do is call in the captains and ask them, "What do you think happened that caused that??"  Then I would have a team meeting, and ask everyone, what the hell happened?  Am I doing something wrong here?  We all know we looked like total excrement out there.  How did that happen?  How do we fix that?
I don't buy the USC rumor (I hope I'm wrong), I think if Urban quits the Jags it will be from coaching period and probably back to a cushy TV job.

I do not watch College Football, so when I heard Urban Myer was going to be the hire I had very little information about him, other than I had heard his name. So I didn't really care either way, after the offseason and preseason I was worried about this game but I figured we could win it. Now after hearing these rumors...I hope he leaves, there were times Trevor looked amazing and I really dont want to mess that up with this coach. After watching that video with Pat McAfee, I hope he leaves. In the video it said the DC has never called Defensive plays, why would you hire someone like that who's never done it when you yourself have never been a HC in the league and you have no clue what you're getting into? After reading all the issues this offseason and preseason I thought, hopefully it's going to work itself out, but wow it didn't and honestly it seemed to get worse. I just read an article by Gil Brandt where he even pointed out Hyde went to Ohio State and he's getting more touches than Robinson, he even said that that Travis had not been hurt Robinson likely would've gotten less touches than he did.

He came out today and said "No Chance".

I actually think he believed the NFL would be easier since he didn't have to recruit but we'll see.
It's definitely business as usual around here.

Which is hilarious because recruiting is what makes College football much, much easier than the NFL.

Only week 2 and he's already ducking/dodging the media lolololol

With the week 1 performance, I'd bet it has a lot more to do with identifying that time as a wasted hour on his calendar.

Well Urban denying it sure doesn't sway my belief either way lol.
Let the hand wringing continue!!

Let the mediocrity continue! Actually, it's not even mediocrity.. it's straight garbage.

That's what you're constantly saying with these comments.
Get rid of Meyer.

The Coach that will bring the Superbowl to Jax is right around the corner.... right?

Yup.. Andy Reid was just dying to come here until they hired Meyer. I heard Reid was so depressed he went on suicide watch.

I'm fine with tossing Meyer off the Modis, but that seems a bit extreme.

The worst thing to happen to this franchise was the failure of Khan and Caldwell to pay whatever it took to get Andy Reid to come here and instead settled on Bobblehead. We continue to suffer from that miscalculation.

There's more than a few on here i'd love to throw off the modis.. that being "extreme" is a mere opinion.
I love this MB. The panic button is real here. Can't wait till mid-season. It could be wayyyyyyyyyy worse or a little bit better.

For being fans of a regular .250 team, we seem to expect immediate success after any change

If by "success" you mean "able to line up correctly on the first play of the game" then yes, we expect a level of success that we did not achieve.

You funny.  I just expect hope.  But year in and year out they seem to grab a fistful of it and squeeze the life out of it.
