After playing a "contain" style of pass rush last week against Rodgers, Wash and the Jags D have a chance this week to pin back the ears and get after Rivers with a vengeance.

This game will prove to be an important measuring stick for Wash's re-vamped defense and his ability to scheme pressure. Rivers is a different QB than Rodgers in that he will throw it away or dump it off quickly when the pocket isn't clean.

Covering Woodhead and Gates when blitzing will be crucial for that reason as they are his primary check-down targets.

I'm looking forward to seeing if this pass rush can finally get home when it counts today.

Couldn't agree more. This is gonna be quite the test today for the defense
I still remember the last time we played them and Rivers scrambled for a first down on a 3rd and 18. There is no way someone with a 6 second 40 should ever run 18 yards against an NFL defense. If that happens today we need to fire the entire defensive staff and the 11 men on the field at the time.
Rivers is a little older and the Jags are a different team.....duuvaaal is coming....get ready to get hit!  Ninja  Ninja  Ninja

It would be such a relief to see a lot of pressure on the QB today and some sacks. That along with a win would make me feel real good about the season.
Feeling confident we're going to take the frustrations of last week's hose job out on SD and come home 1-1. From there, who knows? We may just steal the show.

This front 4 has to get pressure without blitzing. If rivers has 5 seconds in the pocket all day we lose
Ditto. But I would like fo say considering we played Aaron Rodgers last week. The defense did a good job

Still agree. I hope we put Rivers on his back a few times today tho.
If Alualu is inactive today then the pass rush will be inactive as well.
Yes it is, hopefully he gets Jack involved today

Lol what? Is this a joke?

I'm feeling frisky.
Considering Odrick got the only sack last week and the pass rush was pretty much a no-show, there is a lot to prove on the D side of the ball.

Good, I'm glad alualu is inactive again. Guy should have been cut years ago.
