I'm sure he will get his mojo back, but life is too short to deal with a kicker with the yips when your team already has zero margin for error.
Was a good dude, loved Lambo but you gotta make kicks when that's your only job. Hope he gets another gig somewhere and does well.
Thanks for all of the great memories Josh! It is a small world, maybe we see you come in to compete next year. Go get your mind and body right.
Best thing for him. It is not like he hasn't made enough money to hold him over.
The release of Lambo saves us 4 mil next year.
Sorry to see him go BUT it was time to move on.

NH3...

His ex wife is trying to make sure that doesn’t happen.
For '19 an '20 season he and Logan Cooke were the best, most consistent, players on this team. You know you are in trouble when your PK and P are your most notable players.
Wish him the best. I don't think he's fully recovered from his hip injury.
For a several years, Lambo has been the one bright spot on this team. I will be sad to see him go, but he's just in a bad slump right now and you just can't hold a roster spot for a kicker that isn't producing. Saving the money by releasing him is the right thing to do. With that said, I am not a fan of keeping Wright as our only kicker. I think this is a move based off emotion. He wins one game for us and now everyone loves him, never mind that the week before, everyone wanted him cut. The thing that I liked about Lambo when he was "on" was his consistency. I just have a feeling we aren't gonna get that with Wright. He reminds me a lot of Jason Myers, when he was here. That guy used to drive me crazy! He had a similar kicking style. The ball would always float way right and hook back in to either barely sneak through the upright or he'd miss wide right. None of his kicks were straight down the middle. I hated watching him, especially in game winning situations. I just have a feeling, we are in for a similar roller coaster ride.
Must be weird rooting against your existing team. By that I mean, if Wright makes the FGs, the Jags cut you, if Wright misses you may still be a Jag. As such, Lambo had to have rooted for Wright to miss the FGs as any other person in the same situation would have done.
Damn, kind of sad. He was one of my favorite players during so many bad years. He was always consistently good. Hopefully he does get his mojo back.

I never thought of it that way. Given how Lambo had been performing though, he had to know the writing was on the wall. Once he lost the mid week kicking competition to Wright, I think he had to have known what was coming.
Sad to see but sadly the right move. He was one of our best signings and made you wonder why the Chargers cut him. He was money for a while there but the drop off this year has been alarming. The margin of error for K's is small in the NFL at the best of times but he was struggling and you couldn't see him turning it around any time soon.

Wish him all the best and hopefully get himself fully healthy and sort his off field stuff and be back in the NFL.
Best of luck to Lambo...

He was celebrating with Wright as hard any anyone else. Great teammate.

Nah, he was one of the first to run out there and lift Wright up in celebration. He was a good teammate right up until the end.
Although this move was inevitable, it hurts to lose such a talented player. Wishing you the best in your comeback Josh.
I suppose one could say he was kicked to the curb.

Yea, but he missed it to the left

By all accounts, he was very supportive of the new guy and celebrated along with everyone else when the winning kick went through. It's not always about selfish interests in those situations.
