This might be the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in my time following politics.
"I welcome the fact that people will criticize me for putting my country ahead of my party,"

 

this couldn't be any more deceiving.  it's not good for this country.

A politician taking a position for political expediency? Are really that unaware of the politics you've been following, let alone current candidates?

you're underestimating the impact of TPP.  yes, the idea of a politician doing as you say is not new.  The TPP however is an unprecedented level of trade agreement that is actually not even really that much about trade.
