The only way this would be possible as of right now is, to put those blow boxes in each automobile.

Gonna kill the nightclub industry. Sports bars would take a hit too.

Probably a good idea in the long run though.
New vehicle sales would take a hit as well.
Like any giant and wealthy industry, automakers have a well-funded and connected lobbying apparatus. That part will be removed or rendered moot with other legislation.
Nancy gonna have to call an Uber..

It'll create a new industry for kids loitering around car parks at night making a quick $20 to blow into a device.  $20 for 5 seconds worth of work.

Yup, and if it still manages to pass, it is just going to make new cars that much more expensive, which will make the demand for used cars that much higher, which will also make them even more expensive, which, if I'm doing this correctly, means that the entire bill is racist!

They will use cameras to watch your eyes, they already have them for alertness warnings.

They don't work with sunglasses on though.

Don't most cars already have a back seat?
Can this administration over reach any harder?

They'll have a sensor that can read alcohol on your breath. Or a sensor will be built into a phone or smartwatch and you use an app to start your car.

Those are too easy to fool though and the legality is established to stop the physical device if you haven't been previously convicted.

Using cameras, lane sensors, etc could alert police of your potential drunkenness and may find a way to make it legal to report it.

It's cute that manufacturers think they can stay ahead of the hackers.

"New industry", lol. Kids always think they are the first to do everything.
