Disney employees begin relocating from California to Florida: 'Business-friendly climate'

Central Florida is seeing historic lows of available houses for sale

Some of the 2,000 Walt Disney Company employees who are being moved from California to Florida are already eyeing up the housing market near Orlando.

Gross. Tell those liberal idiots to stay there. We don't want them
I have watched locals be priced out of homes in my hood because a good deal to people moving from CA is 20% over market value.
The truth (irrelevant to the conversation I know, but...) is that they are being forcibly relocated to Florida by Disney. Many have already quit their jobs rather than move. This is what happens when a state makes the business environment inhospitable to a big business while many folks simply won't leave California just to keep their jobs.
Why is Disney sending their employees to Florida? Are they planning on closing up shop out there? And if not, don’t they need people working in that location?

Their residents can't afford to go there anymore.

It's all of the corporate and creative teams, not the park operations people.

I’m curious as to the whole motivation behind this. Is it a request by employees willing and able to move, or a cost saving measure by corporate?

The article I read about it said that Disney basically told them they were moving without giving a reason. I have to believe it's more cost effective to be here from a tax perspective, but also that their properties in California were already overbuilt and landlocked and they have a ton of undeveloped land in central Florida to build out their expansion plans.

But I want this to be about a hot button political issue! Blue versus red! Red versus blue!

At the same time, Disney is never ever NOT about the almighty dollar, so bailing from a high tax state like California makes perfect sense to me.
