I think we all were wrong. I think most of us knew there would be struggles on some level, but most of us envisioned TL gradually developing, and would have been okay with a losing record as ;pmg as Trevor got experience and he and the team overall showed signs of forward progress.

I was wrong about the WRs too, though in fairness, once Chark went down, the WRs had to function without a guy who could take the top off the defense. That made a huge difference.
Of course, Shenault not developing into a competent WR really hurt. I blame the WR coach, Sanjay Lal, for that.
Shenault showed far more progress under Keenan.
Agreed. The fact that Meyer let McCardell go, yet kept Warhop is all I needed to know what kind of NFL coach he was gonna be.
Shenault needs to go. See if we can trade him for ANYTHING. He is a detriment to Lawrence right now.

You know why UM kept Warhop...don't you?

It’s all good, we may get the top overall draft pick next year too, maybe the year after as well

With Baalke making the picks and UM coaching them, that may well be true.
I’m posting on behalf of my neighbors, the khan family. He wants to eat his crow and says he was wrong when he said he got it right this time. But to be sure, let’s give it 3 more years.

1. I hated the selection of Urban Meyer and said so at the time.
2. I hated the selection of Baalke and said so at the time. I also said that hiring Meyer would likely mean we would get a bad GM. Any good GM candidate wouldn't want the job with Meyer getting final say.
3. I'll eat crow on Bevell. I believe I did like him. I liked the idea of our offensive coordinator being someone who had been an NFL offensive coordinator for the last 15 years. I thought it would help balance out Meyer's lack of experience. I was wrong. Bevell has been terrible.
4. I still believe in Trevor Lawrence.
I will eat crow on under-valuing our need at wide receiver. To be fair, I didn't know Chark would get injured. However, I thought we would get more out of Marvin Jones Jr. and I also liked Shenault. Silly me for thinking that a rookie wide receiver might take a step forward in his second season.
If given a choice I’d wipe everything away TL has been taught, seen, or exposed to 2021. Do a Men in Black “red flashy thing” mind erasure.
Hiring a douche as a coach.
[BLEEP] grabbing HC.
Not flying home with team.
Not taking any responsibility.
Being petty & punitive benching best player.
WRs who can’t catch.
WRs running wrong routes.
The GM has completely shat the waiver-wire bed; Jackson, OBJ, Cunningham. Virtually no cap impact; an incompetent!
An OL that does its best imitation of a turnstile.
Terrible Special Teams.
A coaching staff that lacks the capacity to create a decent game plan or to put players in positions to win by formations.
A HC that has lost the team and an owner that should have fired HC after the videos and decision to stay in OH.
Trevor’s not getting anything from the reps he’s getting. They’re just going through the motions.
Trevor Lawrence will be successful in the NFL. Whether he’s still in JAX when this happens depends on Khan. UM utter lack of interest leads me to believe he’s trying to get fired; take the $$ and run.
I want to acknowledge the efforts of the Jags defense. They play hard and have flashes of promise. And, Logan has been terrific.
There has to be changes. We all know it. But will SK plug the trigger? It’s a lot of $$$ to fire UM.
What the hell was that post-game handshake with Vrabel??? That poor sportsmanship tells me a lot about a man. Vrabel worked for UM at OSU. I’m think he also played for the Buckeyes. Complete douche.

Kudos to you for this post. I won't say I was nearly optimistic on the first three for sure. I've been accused of eating with a spork and wearing velcro shoes for criticizing Urban and his subsequent hires and fires, off-field antics, and the like. In spite of all that, I held out hope that he'd prove me wrong, that maybe he did have an eye for talent, or a distinct plan to get the most out of the players he had, after all, there's plenty of great college coaches that never taste the success he'd enjoyed, right?
Welp.
I will say I thought that T-Law was talented enough to endure a season that failed to reinforce a suspect line, that he'd bring the players around him up and we'd see better stats from the offensive unit. At this point, though, I question whether it's scheme, roster, jitters, or just the crap chemistry in our locker room impacting him most, and whether he'll be able to realize the promised potential we all celebrated as we lucked our way into R1P1 this time last year.
We're all in this together. I don't blame you for wanting the best for the team. We all did and still do. #DTWD

I was a bit concerned with Meyer due to his lack of NFL experience but thought it made sense to see what he could do since he had a great college career. I thought he'd be a good coach after a few games to gather experience.. boy was I ever was wrong there. I doubted the hype of Lawrence as a generational talent (looks like I was right there so far) but thought he'd be a pretty good NFL QB and would be showing that by now (wrong). I thought Hyde would make a nice one two punch with Robinson. Not so far. I thought letting Conley and Cole get away would haunt the team. Got that one right. I thought it was a mistake to not make big changes on the OL. I'll take that as a W too.
My biggest concern in that area was hiring the coach before the GM takes all the accountability off the GM if the coach is a flop. That, and you are challenged to find a manager who is cool to come in and work with an unproven (AT THIS LEVEL, mind you) coach. You basically sabotage your GM search from the get-go with this approach, and it appears that we either settled on Baalke or he took salesmanship lessons from our HC.
Especially where we sat (crapton of cap, heap of early picks, full build set to begin), the GM hire was significantly more important than the HC hire, we phoned it in, and the results are plain to see.

1. I didn't like the selection of Urban Meyer and said so at the time.
2. I hated the selection of Baalke and said so at the time. Baalke was a disaster in San Francisco and he's doing the same thing here. The only difference: He inherited an excellent team in San Francisco, and he's just perpetuating the lousy team here.
3. I had no opinion on Bevell.
4. I still believe in Trevor Lawrence.
5. I was thoroughly disgusted with our draft and hated what we did in free agency. We had so many opportunities to improve, but squandered them all with bad decisions. The WRs are just part of that.

Im not sure about that. Tony seems pretty content and focused on building his wrestling franchise right now. At some point in time no doubt he takes a big role in the Jaguars, but right now he wants to show Daddy he can build and manage a business primarily on his own. Once his wrestling business booms, he can take a more hands off approach and spend more time on Jaguars related interests, but I dont think he will abandon his own business just yet. But I also could be wrong. He could sell his wrestling business and jump into the NFL world tomorrow, make a huge profit and showing Daddy how smart he is for making a [BLEEP] pot full of money on building a business and selling it for a huge profit. NFL > than "pro" wrestling
i was right about 1 thing and wrong about alot of others.
I said before the season started it would take the Defense about 8 weeks to gel and start playing well.
what i was wrong
1 - the WRs were actually good, i know we lost chark but i expected Laviska to explode
2 - Urban hire i was very happy about, a winning Coach would know how to win, boy was i wrong on this one
3 - the Oline would be better, well folks, only players worth keeping after this past weekend is Linder, Bartch and Little. everyone else can go.
4 - LB Wilson being better than Jo and Jack playing better. well they both haven't done much to show what they are.
id like to see more improvement from the team the final 5 games, id like to see at least 5 or 6 TDs from Lawrence.
