Father-of-two, 41, spends £20,000 creating 'secret' underground 'bunker bar' with leftover building materials from his self-build house – though his wife doesn't love how long he spends there watching football!
  • Jody Wainright's bar is hidden in his garden underneath the shed and measures ten by five metres
  • The subterranean structure, in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, doubles as a cinema where he hosts movie nights
  • Inspired by the Batcave from Batman, Jody has filled the dark space with jet black furniture and worktops
  • As well as Star Wars posters and other movie memorabilia, the bar is decorated with framed football shirts
  • Jody says the underground sports bar has been a welcome distraction during the Covid lockdowns
  • The Wakefield father did not disclose his total spend on the project, although £20k went on materials alone

The daily mail is the worst website ever. Every time I go there it locks my computer up.

Ya but...
When we were on high school my buddies rented a shed at an old mushroom farm. It was a scratchy place. One day the door was kicked in and nothing was stolen. It was weird. Turns out one of the other renters had built his own bar. People would go to an old mushroom farm in the middle of the night, and sit in a damp floorless shack, than go to a real bar to save a couple bucks.

Someone was also cooking meth out of another shack.
