With JRobs style of running hopefully this doesn’t alter his career too much, he may try and take the Greg jones approach and just bulk up and try and find a niche as a power back
This is such sad news. This is a major injury, and the jaguars are essentially back to looking for a RB. More importantly, I hate It for James Robinson, after how hard he has worked.
As good as j rob is, he cant get any slower, he will be fine. He just needs to retain that quickness

We'll have Etienne next season.

We are hoping we will have Etienne next season
RB is a pretty easy position to replace. It definitely sucks for J-Rob though. (He's from my area in Illinois and i've been following him for years) Hopefully he's able to come back at some point next season.

Until then, we'll have to sign a decent RB and hope that Etienne can be healthy enough to make it through the season.

It was really stupid to even be playing him much this late in the season out of the playoffs.

People complaining that he wasn't playing and now complaining that he was playing?

You caught that too, huh.
I really hate to say this, but chances are he'll be a shadow of his former self and his career is effectively over.
Y'all need to chill. Every injury isn't the same. He may be done or he may be fine next season. Let it play out.
One thing that's encouraging under the circumstances of the Achilles injury to James Robinson and other players coming off this type of injury is how well Brooklyn Nets F Kevin Durant has recovered from the torn Achilles injury he suffered in the NBA Finals in 2019 (when with the Golden State Warriors). James Robinson's work ethic and confidence that he can overcome obstacles certainly works in his favor.

Why yes! Play him earlier in the season when there’s a shot at the playoffs. After that, it’s a wasted season for veterans. He doesn’t need more game tape or practice. Sit him, Josh Allen, Shaq, and a handful of other established vets.

What is all this talk about arbitrarily benching players to get them coached up or preserving them? That isn’t how it works. Players are paid to play every game they are available, and to play to win. Every game.

Exactly, people don't want to watch the scrubs play even when the team is out of the playoff race. The poster who suggested that may as well suggest sitting the entire starting lineup for that matter.
Wishing him the best. Not only a potential career ender, but also potentially missing out on life changing money. May never get that big 2nd contract. As someone stated above, there is a track record of high end athletes recovering from this. But you don't see it much in football.
Yeah really unfortunate situation for a guy who has worked so hard and succeeded against all odds.

The procedure used to repair these injuries has improved greatly over the years
ACL injuries used to be career ending. Sooner or later medical science will make sure Achilles injuries can be fixed enough to save a career. It's possible we're already there.

I missed it - we had a shot at the playoffs at some point this year...?
