The more i think about it Trent Brown should be one of the guys at the op of our FA wish list. Little and Brown would be a nice upgrade at the tackle spots. Still go after a guard as well
We're stuck with Baalke, the only players who might sign here now are C/D list FA that we pay like B listers like Jenkins and RRH.
Drastically lower your expectations for our FA haul.
I think DJ Chark will be more hot as a FA than some think. Rumored the Eagles are 1 team that wants him

^ this. Head coach candidates are not the only ones that want nothing to do with Baalke.
With Doug here I'm thinking we get Zack Ertz in FA. I've wanted him every since the 2013 draft. He would be a good vet to pair Arnold and hopefully we hit on a rookie

Agreed. Arnold, Ertz and fingers crossed on somebody like McBride with the 33rd overall pick or Kolar out of Iowa St in RD3.
Goedeke seems like a Pederson guy. Former TE converted to OT. Quick on his feet. Could be a solid RT to compete with Taylor.
I like Ertz though for sure. Wouldn't be against Schultz out of Dallas now too considering Pederson's offensive scheme.

McBride is my favorite TE in the draft. I don't think there is really anyone like him in the league right now at TE with his size, aggressiveness, route running, and the way he looks like a RB at TE and kind of plays like it too

The best thing I found out about him is that a lot of his production was coming out of the "traditional" stance as well. Where he's tight at the LOS with his hands in the dirt. So, he didn't get a lot of those crazy flex opportunities or move packages like you see with guys like Kittle and Kelce. McBride has a [BLEEP] ton of potential.

With his build I could see him being a great blocker too. It wouldn't surprise me if we took Neal in the first and McBride in the 2nd. Build up front for Trevor.
For OTs try for Armstead and/ or Brown. Likelihood of either is low imo leaves Eric Fisher or re sign Cam
Pass rush try for Chandler Jones, Landry, Ogbah
Center Jenson if they don't tag him in Tampa
G Scherff, Williams (Tacks)
WR Godwin, Kirk, Chark on a budget friendly prove it deal
TE Gesiki or Shultz or an aging Ertz
There are some targets here I think we could compete for with our cap space. Pederson at HC ought to wipe out residual reticence bc of Baalke imo but coaching staff hires will be important. 3 or 4 of these could really help us out a lot. Did not include any DBs or LBs or IDL though.
Holy crap. just saw FA list of TEs for this year
M. Gesicki
C.J Uzomah
Z. Ertz
Gronk
OJ Howard
H. Hurst
G. Everett
M. Alie-Cox
E. Engram
D. Njoku
T. Kroft
Maxx Williams
R. Tonyan
A. Firkser
J. Cook
E. Ebron
J. Graham
And Shultz not on the list?
time to snag a top TE from FA, keep Arnold (can every other TE on the roster) except Manhertz for blocking.. draft a TE.
Finally, this position will be FIXED!
Baalke lighting up the offseason....just signed free agent Elijah Sullivan, a 6'0 215 LB that was on the KC and 49ers practice squads this past season.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say 50%-75% of those guys get re-signed and never hit the market.
But this year's TE class is deep and talented. Lots of teams may look to get younger and cheaper at the position and let these guys go.
Of this list, I think there may be a decent chance Gesicki hits the market.
McDaniels is a Shanahan disciple and will likely run a version of the WCO, which utilizes TEs. However, Shanahan's version of the WCO has a heavier emphasis on the run than most variations. Accordingly, they place a greater emphasis on run blocking from the TE position. Kittle is a great receiving TE, but is also a devastating blocker as well. Gesicki is a fantastic receiving TE, but isn't anywhere near the blocker Kittle is. Miami has plenty of cap room based upon what I've seen, so if they want to keep him they could. If he hits the open market though, I want him to be one of the free agent priorities.
What I think may be more likely is the Jaguars sign Zack Ertz to maybe a 1-2 year deal because he has been in the offense for most of his career. He would be a help to Trevor Lawrence learning the system, he is reliable and still has something left in the tank. I think they then draft a guy in the middle rounds.
Gesicki is just a souped up Dan Arnold. Neither one can block worth a lick, and both of them make just as many bone headed plays/drops as they make good plays. The only reason to sign Gesicki is if you're already ready to kick Arnold to the curb.
A dual threat like Schultz or Alie-Cox that we can play in 12 personnel is the ticket.
I would like to see both Shultz and Ertz get signed by us but especially Ertz while keeping Manhertz and Arnold
I think we go hard after Brandon Scherff. With Doug being in the same division as Scherff those years, he knows how good he is. Now we have one of his former assistant oline coaches in Phil Rauscher
