It's all personal opinion.. but I think 2017 is a good example of that. While, yeah our team was much more talented than it is now, we played one of the softest schedules I've ever seen with a combination of bad teams, and backup QBs. 2018 came around and that exact same team with no subtractions went 5-11 against a tougher schedule.

No subtractions?  LOL.  They were playing street free agents on the OL by the end of the season.  Both OTs got hurt in the Pats game.

Sweet video.   Great for people with A.D.D.
I know someone mentioned it before but man I wish the Jags were in the NFC. Just this season alone, the Jags have to play Russ Wilson, Herbert, Mahomes, and Lamar from the AFC. Then if they do somehow make the playoffs, they'll have to contend with Josh Allen and Burrow.

The AFC is a gauntlet at QB.

Dude, we're in the AFC South, the division with the worst QB.  Personally, I'll be satisfied if we are simply in the division race the next few years .... then we can worry about playoffs and advancing.  Another thing is teams with Great QBs (on the 2nd contract) most often have to sacrifice $$ elsewhere so their defenses tend to be worse which is good for Trevor.  Russell Wilson has 2 years left on his contract and is said to be demanding $50m/year so Denver will need to make some concessions if they want to sign him long term.

Do you mean the Tackles that we currently hate and blame most of our offensive problems on?

Hmmm, so Taylor was on the team on 2018?  Interesting.  And I thought he was playing in college.

But nice attempt at deflecting.  Somebody...oh maybe you...said that we were playing with essentially the same lineup in 2018 as we were in 2017.
as usasl the nfl gives the Jaguars the ttoughest schdule in nfl. so much for loseing teams getting a eaiser schdule. not if your jacksonville Jaguars, the other 31 teams do,but not jacksonville.

First, the regular season schedule is set.  The NFL makes no decision on a year to year basis on which team plays which other teams.  There's no conspiracy where the NFL is purposely giving the Jaguars a tougher schedule.

Second, the first place/last place schedule thing is over-rated.  14 out of NFL team's 17 games have nothing to do with the prior year's record.  We already know what those 14 games will be next year and the year after and the year after, etc.  You play other teams in your division twice and the divisions you play against are on a rotation.  Only 3 games are influenced by last year's record.  Even with those 3 games, who we play is based upon last year's record.  Sometimes good teams get worse and bad teams get better, so even these games are not easier 100% of the time.
As they say

Baptism by fire, pedderson and trebor going to be in the deep end together
So we are only a few days into FA and still some big names to pick where they are going and after the 2 huge trades in the last 2 days then who knows what will happen next but how do people feel about the schedule now? Looked tough before, may have gotten tougher now but we also looka better team.

Based on what we know atm, I see about 6-8 winnable games.
Good thing that the rest of our division has to play the afc west too.
I think we win 4-5 games next year. That's my current prediction. Pretty tough schedule with the AFC West on our rotation. Hopefully Baalke doesn't get to make another pick after this season, but I"m not so hopeful there.
